For what it's worth, there have been a few original nintendo (8 bit) handheld systems, here's one example of a famicom version http://www.atarihq.com/tsr/pirate/topguy.html
I think these are even cooler than the snes version...Zelda anyone?:)
hey this stuff would be neat to integrate into your clothing, you could have some kind of display on your forearm or the like, combined with flexible solar panels and peizoelectric inserts in your shoes...maybe the makings for a low cost, low power wearable? or maybe for those of you that are down with this kind of shizz, banner advertising across your back and chest?

The only reason that I'm even the least bit excited about 802.11a is that I'm hoping it will lower the price of 802.11b and my broke ass might finally be able to afford some wireless gear. Since I'm not a Bleeding-edge fanatic and my bandwidth requirements are slim, 802.11b would be PLENTY for surfing, reading email and occasionally downloading a file or two. I'm looking forward to someday seeing prices comparable to cat5 hardware....ah, that'd be nice....
um...these run at around 5 gigahertz(centimeter range wavelength) compared to 1000 gigahertz(nanometer range wavelength), where infra-red light starts...I wouldn't say that was "very close"...
Has anyone tried the linux port of Arachne? I used it on an old 486 dos laptop (yes, there is a graphical web browser for dos) and it ran pretty quickly...plus it's only about a 1 meg download.
All this talk about tough books....Yea they're nice....But I'll stick to my purpose built Itronix rugged notebook. built in wireless modem, conforms to mil spec impact and moisture standards.....I love it!
huh?
Yea, wouldn't it be cool?
