I know this is slightly offf topic but can someone explain to me why u cant decrypt from the public key and the encrypted data? I was taught in maths that any mathematical expression can be modified to find lost values, so if the public key is good enuff to be used with the expression to encrypt the data, and if you know the expression and the public key, then why cant u turn the process around? Im confused :) Im one of those that takes this stuff jsut to work :)

Heh makes me laff. Maybe they havent actually done it yet, and want to pick our brains for a way to implement it :) Think about it, they say they have done it, and all of a sudden we get posts on slashdot saying "well they could go about it like this......." and voila, brainstorming of the masses :) and it cost em nothing either :)

    Scarey eh?

Or maybe you should ignore me :)

Well most people have said it all so far, so ive jsut got a few things to add.

Dylithium Crystals: They are used as a cage to control and contain the matter:antimatter reaction.

Hydroponics: U can get Rebreathers right now, which scrub the CO2 from the air, and make it breathable. When us humans breath in a lungfull of air, we dont extract all of that oxygen, infact we get less than a third of it, so the rest gets breathed back out. Also, notice theres no plants on Mir/Spaceshuttle/ISS (except for use in experiments.

Warp factor 9: As someone said, this is actually exponential, but as explained in the series, they are actually bending space so theoretically they arent breaking laws.

Hold on, im in no way an expert on this, but isnt what this bloke Ashcroft is doing actually terrorism in itsself? I mean, reading a lot of posts on /. makes the under lying fear of those people making the posts widely seeable. A lot of people are actually afraid of this law, so isnt that terrorism? If not then how are we defining terrorism? And dont go and sya its different because only those who break the laws have to be afraid, i think by now that laws designed for one purpose can easily be made to fit all other purposes :/ Makes ya think doesnt it?

There is a method of keeping all the software centrally controlled on windows, we use a 3rd party program called zenworks. what you do is scan a bare win98 system with zenworks, then install the software and then rescan. zenworks can then redistribute those changes to other machines, and alos keep control of what machines have those apps so as to control licensing.

The only drawback is that the hardware needs to be practically identical or veru similar, and also some apps are done in a certain way so as to stop this, ie macromedia shockwave installer full :)
