  1. Donation on To Whom Should I Donate? · · Score: 1

Guys, sorry to be offtopic on this, but please mod me up.

If anyone have extra $ for donation at this time. It's definitely make MUCH more sense to donate to disaster-related humanitarian effort.

We have Myanmar's cyclone killing 50000+ and China's earthquake killing 50000+. Both countries need a lot of relief help.

It's interesting that you bring up the "mental-picture-marker" issue.

I used to have a co-worker who has a 2-year-old kid. His house has no Television. When I asked why, his reply kinda put thing in perspective. Basically he wants his kid to have IMAGINATION. Remember how when we were kid, all the role-play games is nothing but make-shift items and a treehouse? Nowaday all the kids have consoles/TV/DVD doing all the work for them. :/

Follow the text prompt and you can donate 5 dollars each time. All of the proceeds will go directly to redcross, and the donation amount will show up on your phone bill.

good that it's mark as troll. The poster clearly does not personally know a sysadmin. The mysterious "gandalf" sysadmin truely known systems from hardware components all the way up to high-level C programming. Some of them are the best programmers I've ever know. That was the reason I take a sysadmin job and apprenticed under a fellow sysadmin coworker instead of starting out an entry level programming job. I'm glad I've make that decision.

Check out SAGE website under USENIX and you will find out sysadmin is among one of the most tech-savy professional fields in the IT world.

  5. NE mediaone user still get hit by the WORM on Broadband Crackdown · · Score: 1

It looks to me that ne.mediaone.net is ONLY blocking port 80 traffic from their external router. I'm still seeing request for default.ida?XXXXXX.... to the server. Only that they're ALL from my mediaone.net subnet. So I guess their notice about "notifying the infected users" is all but BS. Now that all I need to do is to GET /script/root.exe? on their machine... :-)

I read a little bit Japanese and Kanji...
I think the article basically say that
they got a quote from the chairman from SCE
saying "some" linux porting on PS2 is being done internally in SCE. Then they basically point
you to another link that has a signing compagin
that wishes SCE to release the port.

    http://www.peanuts.gr.jp/pslinux/

If you WANT to sign it, goto the link,
click on the first sumbit button (that
    goto the signing page)

    On the signing page:
First Edit box is your Name, then the listbox
    is Japan's states (I think).
Town, City, then your emailaddess & comment.

spoof for ssh2 is just not available, YET.
