I'm hoping mactel sticks, seeing as I bought mactels.com.net.org to beat the rush.

I was getting really mad at all the posts until I saw this one, redeeming the threads.

You touched on a very serious subject. Remanticized Youth. I think marketing has run the gamut of advertising to adults, so they target youth. Seeing it is so successful, lets target adults as youth.

Another thing, kids want structure, they crave it. You think that the crappy stuff they're into isn't structured? It is. Check to see the structure they follow in TV programming alone. Want to solve a real problem? Get rid if the Cable/Satellite/Antenna TV, it' shouldn't be where your kids learn things about life. We haven't had TV for 5 years and our kids are better for it. As a matter of fact, they're usually whacked out after a weekend away where there is TV.

Another real insight I liked was about working to get more stuff. Despite what your kids tell you now, they will enjoy a ball and bat over a new PS3. You just need to show them how enjoyable they are, and that means cutting the overtime. Are you living to work or working to live?

I'm sorry. The web site stated NSA level of erasure. I'm unsure if it's DOD. I work with a Federal Prison that recycles actual DOD computers and they use a 3-pass erasure. This does a 3-pass.

  4. Disk Jockey can do it on Secure Hard Drive Deletion Appliance? · · Score: 0

The Disk Jockey from Diskology can do a 1-pass or 3-pass DOD erase. It can also dupe disks or just mout them on the computer. IT can also RAID two disks together. Must see the web site. I own one and LOVE it.

Already happening. Unicor, a division of the Federal Prision System, employ's prisioners to do just this. Clients include: Dell, IBM, DOD, IRS, Univ. of MD, etc... In the case of Dell and IBM the stuff is from "take back" recycling programs. I pick up loaded PIII's for $45 before they're scrapped. The prisioners even do DOD security erasing of all hard drives. Really, they're focused on reusing than recycling, but nothing goes to a landfill. They even have inmates in bunny suits smashing CRT's.

It seems Dotster (his registrar) sends a fair amount of bulk mail asking people to switch to their service. It seems Apple filtered them due to their "bulk" status. Alot of spammers avoid this by using alot of unique addresses to avoid classification as "Bulk SPAM". This is probably why you see a fair amoung of SPAM on mac.com

Saying Apple has a monopoly on mac-hardware compatible OS's is like saying GMC has a monopoly on Chevy engines. It's their frealin' hardware/software combo! Do you think Microsoft would be this far up shit creek if they put their OS on their machines? NO. Apple has no need to serve anyones needs but their own.
