Free has often been of the right side of the tracks as a provider: they allowed VOIP at a time when others banned it; they give you static IPs if you ask; they were the first to do TV over ADSL, etc... I'm glad to see them show some spine here, even if it's only to get them some new customers, and even if it won't last.

This depends entirely on the monitor you buy.

I went from a 1600x1200 CRT to 1920x1200 LCD. In other words, I lost no vertical resolution.

Well, my 1920x1200 monitor died twice last month, and the 2nd I decided to dump it. I could NOT find a replacement at the same resolution on my usual online store that had 300 models in stock. The few monitors at that or above resolution were in the 2000$ range.

Years ago in France a guy did name his company "Trésor Publicité". A perfectly good name. Except that he used it to cash intercepted checks intended for the "Trésor Public" [the french revenue service], just adding the 3 letters at the end. Guess how that worked out for him... In a zero-G environment, these globules will instead stay in suspension and the yeast will remain in an active state for a longer period of time.

Yes, and how do you filter it out then ? It's supposed to occur slowly thanks to gravity, either towards the bottom or the top. So we'd at least need a new name for it! And if they need anybody up there for trials, I'm available. [and I just brewed some stout yesterday]

I completely agree. This 'method' of doing business has been going on for a long time in the digital spectrometer world and mainframe world. I find it revolting and for the period when I had some decision power on what was being purchased I made it very clear to vendors that I would never consider their equipment for that very reason.
