Why can't capitalism mean wealth for all, or at least wealth for most?
Once you get beyond the Big Brother nature of Walmarts, Best Buy's, etc., they do an excellent at providing wealth to all. Good items are now affordable for poorer people to purchase. And salaries within society are equalized.
Don't get me wrong. I still dislike Walmart and such, but this thinking lessens alleviates my guilt when i shop at these places.
When making expensive purchases, I've found online stores to be cheaper. 6 months ago I purchased an engagement ring from Mondera.com that was much cheaper than ones at jewelry stores, largely because there was no sales tax.
Is this like the Bell experiments, where two subatomic particles, separated by a great length of battleship-grade steel continued to spin in complimentary directions?
Starcat sounds like a perfect companion for Ellison's ID card. With them the government can adequately track the behavior of everyone who isn't a terrorist.

E-cash...
1)...can sit in an account, earning interest at all times.
2)...is a poor target for muggers.
3)...makes it easier for individuals to track their own spending.
4)...means more job opportunities for me!
