Oh, if anyone's curious, we replaced the 50GB OnStream drive w/removeable 40GB HDs. No drive problems, no muss, no fuss, and now any PC can read the backup.
At work we had an OnStream, the 50G SCSI version. Linux treated it like a regular SCSI tape, which was nice. However, the drive ended up going bad...actually, out of the 4 OnStream drives we had here (some 30GB, some 50GB, 3 IDE, 1 SCSI) all but 1 was sent back at least once. We also had a few tapes go bad in less than a year. The drive would also do wierd things under Linux, like just hang. Granted, this was RH 6.2 on like kernel 2.2.16, so it may be better now. Overall though I was NOT impressed w/drive or tape quality.
" NEW YORK, Sept. 11 -- Two aircraft slammed into the twin towers of the World Trade Center on Tuesday, causing one to collapse, while another aircraft hit part of the Pentagon. The Pentagon, the West Wing of the White House and the Capitol building were being evacuated. In addition, the FAA grounded all civilian aircraft nationwide. President Bush called the tragedies "an apparent terrorist attack on our country." "
but I'm not sharing my connection with anyone until I can be almost 100% sure those who are using the connection aren't just using it for warez, mp3s and porn.
So is almost 100% like 99%?;)
Also, if you aren't using broadband for mp3s/warez/pr0n, what the hell are you using it for? I don't need broadband to buy from pricewatch.;)
Did you look at the prices for support? I believe the poster meant "reward" as in small monetary compensation, not "reward" as in "take my sister, my mother, my phat ride, and anything else that isn't bolted down".
Yeah but how often are these people going to upgrade? If you're dealing with a large corporation, you're lucky if they are on a 3 year lease program. I know lots of people that are still using 266s w/64MB or RAM. The average user doesn't buy a new PC every year either.
That "the hardware can support it" is a gamers attitude or someone who doesn't mind buying new hardware all the time. Personally, I'd like a bit more lifetime out of my hardware.

Amen to that, especially the gun control comment.

Anyone who believes this is real is also probably waiting for their checks from Disney and MS for forwarding their "marketing" email to 15 friends.
I also have an email tracker to rent to these people if they need one...
