Yeah, I belive that wine apps may have been able to print using windows drivers at some point far in the past. The simplest (and slowest) solution would be to run the windows version of ghostscript, which could then print the linux generated postscript using the windows driver.

They were when they started (Morpheous and Kazaa both use the FastTrack network). But they moved to a system where you must log on to a central server before you can join the network. Take a look at the giFT project for more info (they were an open source client before the network closed).

They are also working on a new version of the network they call OpenFT.

    Why do I use galeon?
    1. Because I can close a tab without going to it (each one has it's own x)
    2. Because 1.0 has a button to clear the location box!!! Now I can actually use my 3rd button to paste stuff! This alone is enough to make it my primary browser!
    3. Because it can use GTM to download. (Better than having the full browser running while I download a 600MB iso.) It doesn't seem to like my version of gtm any more (0.4.9) any one else had issues?
  9. What is this? Bash nVidia week? on NVidia NV17M Mobile GPU Preview · · Score: 1

Nvidia may not play by the RMS rules of Open Source but they do support it. The reason they don't use the standard interfaces is because they have a unified driver on i386 systems. (Linux, Windows 9x & NT, and I think beos all use the same driver, they just have a wrapper around it to interact with the OS) Do a google for the FreeBSD nvidia driver, it failed because of an incompatibility but they were supposedly very supportive of it.

And yes it's unstable but they give very good support. I got a reply from them in 2 days. On a sunday.

The problem with the nvidia drivers is that after X barfs and you kill it (CTRL+ALT+BKSP or ATL+SysRq+k) the kernel driver hangs on and doesn't let it fall back to console mode (nvidia uses a kernel driver to get direct access to the card). You can type in to the console (ATL+SysRq+s then ATL+SysRq+u then ATL+SysRq+b is my standard system when wine pukes on me), you just can't see it.
