Slackware was my OS of choice for ripping various news feeds when my site golf.com launched back in 96 or so.
As I remember, slackware ran even more reliably than my netware 3.11 server, but it was close. Most my machines would run for 100s of days without a reboot, and usually because I was tweaking, not because they were busted. (Can't say my Win95 boxes could boast the same, but the one DesqView box we had was pretty reliable as well).
Any-which-way, happy 10th Slackware, or is it slakware?:)
I am routinely plagued by systems that rely on my color perception. Many computer programs and/or websites just assume that everyone sees colors the same, which sometimes leads me to ask others what color something is, and I'm only "color impaired" and not totally "color blind".
Back in 96-98 or so, when I was VP at golf.com, we had 1/2 dozen Slackware 4.x machines running on 486s that happily pulled down various newsfeeds, with relatively few issues. One was even on a Laptop with a PCMCIA ethernet card.
'course we also had a Netware 3.11 server on a 486, and it ran even better...
