I use 1900x1200 because it lets me see a few more lines of code over 1900x1080. So, going to 2160 sounds great. Most of my coworkers have dual screens. The question is, how long will it take for the price to be competitive with two 1900x1080 screens?
I just re-installed XP sp 2 last night on an old laptop which comes with IE 6. I didn't really think of it as old. It worked fine until I was able to update, restart, update, restart, update, restart, update, restart, update, restart and then update to IE 8.
If Apple decoupled Mac OS X from Apple hardware their market share would increase drastically. Also, if the linux desktop where equal to Mac OS X in every other regard the cost would be very attractive.
Yes, in looking for points of interest to set break points consider the input into the system and the expected output. Identify where in the code key transitions of data take place and set your breakpoint there.
If there is no one at your company that can give you an overview of how the code works, start looking for another job or go ask for a very large raise. Your employer doesn't understand software and the value in keeping key developers around.
Very early in my career I was asked, "What kind of a job can you get writing software? We already have word processors and spreadsheets, what else do you need?".
Free software is good, but consider the amount of time required to produce free software and the amount of money to be earned by a commercial product until a free alternative is available.
Hmmm, the person you describe is a CS Graduate with 10+ years of experience. If your company has a fetish for developers under 30, find a new company.
A good developer with 10+ years of experience will cost 2.5 to 4 times more than a fresh college grad, but should produce 5 to 50 times the work (quantity + quality).

The choice of James Carville to play Gollum was truly inspired.
