Now WHY would I want to donate to a person caught downloading? Yes, IRTFA and basically Mr. Peng is going on-line to reimburse himself for getting caught. Fuck that. That's like saying: "I need to pay my mortgage this month and I don't have enough money. I'll put up a website that asks for 'donations' so I don't lose my home". Please. Right or wrong, d/l'ing copyright music is currently illegal in the US. Everyone knows this, yet he wouldn't even comment on his own downloading practices. HINT: guilty. Even so, I'm glad that there's SOMEONE out there gullible enough to help me out financially when I get caught. Apparently all I have to do is host a website with PayPal as my financier, but that's a different story.

It really boggles me that a person like you can call me a wealthy, warmongering asshole when you have no concept of the data you spew. Before you call someone a 'warmongering asshole' you better have your ducks in a row. Have you heard the phrase..."If someone wants to sell you a $.10 diamond ring chances are all you purchased was a $.10 diamond ring"? Same applies to your argument. If you want to enumerate all of the shortcomings of the US government on the Republicans...fine. I just hope you come to your same 'logical' conclusions when a Demo-rat is president. Seeing as you're anti-republican though, you probably won't.

What do you fear more? A country that has no control over their arsenal or a country that chooses to control it via sanctions? The fact that you state 'there are enough weapons already' does NOT apply to just the US rather the other countries on this planet, just shows your ignorance of the facts.

I agree totally. After 2 months of mild depression because of the layoff, I got down and dirty with the job boards. Here a resume, there a resume everywhere a resume. No luck. After 2 more months I got down and dirty 'pounding the pavement'. Personal meetings, walk-ins and lobby sitting to meet SOMEONE....ANYONE. Eventually, after waiting about 2 1/2 hours in a company lobby, the secretary felt so bad for me she 'found' the time to introduce me to the COO of the company. As it turned out, they had just fired a department manager that day and he decided to do the full interview with me. I got the job. Lucky, yes...but it still wasn't my dream job. It paid the bills nonetheless. I never did take my resumes off of those job boards and ironically 4 months later I got a phone call from another company. "I found your resume on Monster. Are you still looking for employment?" I decided, what the hell and at least went for the interview; I had nothing to lose. Today, I have my dream job, the salary I wanted and a boss who backs me 110%. Go figure.

Wow....I need a nap after that one....equating the state of free society to copyright law was a bit of a stretch but virtual contracts got me; especially the costs of running that society. The music industry has perfected the art of pumping out useless music (information) to the tune of billions. Now their profit margin is getting slimmer because more people have 'information' that they never had before. The cash cow has run dry and now they're claiming 'foul'. To whom? Their customers, their resources...hell..they're own stockholders. It's a joke. My own revolt is that I have not bought a CD in over 3 years; hell they can blame me for the lack of sales for all I care. I wish others would do the same to put those bastards out of business and let the true market decide what's worth buying.

Excuse me? It sounds to me like YOU want a free lunch. If someone else provides the resources for you to accomplish your goals (even on commision) then your talent becomes expendable on merit. Artists 'starve' because they were most likely taken advantage of...not because of some mystical force in the universe that makes them special. You have the same logic as the RIAA; if the song is played 10000000 times and I own the copyright...I get paid. Thanks Disney, please extend copyright another 20 years until it's infinite because I can afford it AND it's in my company's best interest. The 'artist' thing only goes so far before people start to realize it's corporations, not people, that run the show.
