Great.....My boxen gets infected because I could not patch fast enough and NOW I get a fine because of it. Sheesh, I lose data, my connection and half my friends won't open my email anymore and NOW I have Joe Schmoe senator saying I should drain my bank account because of faulty (yet popular) software that the government THEMSELVES actually use. When does the insanity end? Someone, please....tell me there's an end.

Oh please. Do you have a TRUE grasp of ethics? Ethics are based in morality. They are basically a 'code of conduct' for the undefined portions of any society which base there social behavior on morals. Ethics are, in fact, dynamic.

You've GOT to be kidding me. The only 'pity' children see is for themselves when they can't have the latest PlayStation, a cell phone or an internet connection. A child does NOT perceive morality as an ideal rather than materialism; even if it's for food.

I have to agree with you on this one. When I was single I would have NO PROBLEM making a stand like this one because I would be fighting for MY ideals and MY morality. Although my wedding vows stated for better or for worse, I don't think the intent was intentionally for the worse. I would have a hard time sleepng at night (if I had a place to sleep) knowing I caused my family harm for an ideal. I don't think killing is right either but I'd have no problem protecting my family from harm; and I'd actually look in the mirror knowing I broke a commandment and humbly take the brunt of hell rather than let my loved ones suffer. It sucks to sacrifice but at least get the priorities straight.

I believe this has been said before on this website, but if you silence the views (good or bad) of one person or ISP you silence them all. Kiddie pr0n/malastation has been going on for centuries but it's just been recently with the internet and the whole 'save the children' campaign that it's really gained notoriety. I am definitely not FOR kiddie porn, but the minute you sacrifice the exception for the rule everyone loses; that's a fact. I'm not even saying it's free speech; I abhor it, but at the same time we can't limit the free exchange of information through a given medium because of a few bad apples. I'm also not speaking of unsolicited child sex via email; that's almost worse, but people who venture onto the internet need to realize that there are dangers out there; maybe even worse than the regular highway. Viruses, porn, unwanted email....they are all things that are out there; right or wrong and they were out there well before the internet. We don't have to accept them per se, but silencing or restricting an ISP is NOT the way to do it. All I ever wanted to do was surf the net without interruption from an advertisement about a dating service or some penile extension miracle but I've come to realize that it's not my ISP's fault. They're only giving me what I signed up for: an unlimited access to information, whether it's good or bad. It's up to me to filter out the information I want and don't want. Same goes for kids, if you have them, pay attention to where they surf.

Your analogy is great but where's person .A; the person(s) who CREATED the music? The big corp just BOUGHT it; they didn't CREATE it! Talk to a few artists who had one hit wonders and ask them where their royalties are....they're tied up in some copyright thingy (Badfinger, off the top of my head) with the labels. To me it's not grey, it's green.

And what's wrong with that? I'm NOT a single parent, hell; I'm married and not a parent. Yet I have to pay for all these 'social' programs my newly elected Democratic governor elects to impose for schools, welfare and now in Brown county a program for children of non-citizens to get state sponsored financial aid for college tuition. JESUS, where are my rights as a tax paying, resident, non-parent? I couldn't afford college for my DOG right now if I DID have kids! I was just re-assessed on my house in which the TAX value on the property jumped 26%! Why? So my state can collect another $1300.00 a year in taxes from me for the "social" programs to which I gain no benefit. Where is the financial burden for the people having these children (mother AND father)? It's time to have some responsibility and accountability in situations like these. I'm NOT against the disabled or the short term financially strapped person enough to draw the line, but this is ridiculous. When the people of this country start taking responsibility for their actions and quit blaming their woes on others, I'll be less skeptical.
