Blowing all my mods to call out your Tea Party endorsement. I have lived in two conservative wonderlands, Grand Rapids, MI and Indianapolis, IN. Both are full of Tea Partiests and were major stops in Sara Palin's book tour.
In my local government the Democrats didn't even bother to run although there were some challenges to the Repubs from super conservatives. I have seen nothing to indicate that any of these super conservatives want to save money, decrease bureaucracy, or really make any changes that don't line their pocket (WHEN THEY ARE IN POWER, they will lie like dogs when they are trying to get power). There are just as many over staffed medical offices and sales people/insurance people sucking us dry.
pFsense config is no harder then any of the off the shelf routers. If you buy an embedded device with eveything pre-installed you just plug it in and go to the internal web interface. Upgrading is a one click affair. Sure you can put it on an old PC, or put together your own embedded kit, but those are options, not requirements, you never need to touch the CLI. I know the old version required the CLI for the initial setup, but that is no longer the case. Mikrotik is a litle more complicated, but it's rock solid at a low price and for most home DHCP WAN links there is nothing to configure.
For what most people spend on mid to high level home routers you could be using pfsense on an alix board, or at least an ubiquiti or mikrotik device. Any of these devices will blow the socks off the consumer junk out there.
If you think there is not a "green" company benefiting from those "green" tax credits you are naive. Home mortgages get deductions, not credits. These benefit Realtors, Banks, and people with very expensive homes more then they benefit your average American. On a $150k home the deduction is almost a wash, compared to the standard deduction, after afew years.
I'll give you child credits, but we are still 2 to 1. I would also posit that child credits are a bone to prevent paying things like maternity/paternity leave, something that is common in other countries. The US is not over populated despite the rhetoric. There are world problems, but kowtowing to "world overpopulation" will cause more local problems and after afew generations our society will be gone.
There is nothing the Republican or Democratic party do that couldn't be done by another party. Why should you continue to support something that is broken? Why fix something that should be discarded and replaced?
it would be cheaper and faster to reduce greenhouse gasses by leaving a carbon tax then by regulating industries. But!!!???...My Money!! Don't take my beautiful money!
This molding of human behavior is less of a problem then the molding of tax structures to avoid taxing my rich friend or my rich friend's company. Sometimes they hide it as behavior policy, but there is usually some rich dude's investment that is pulling the strings. Take off your blinders, look what happened to the tea party.
Drug revenue confiscation is all the incentive they need. Then they can spend that confiscated money on surplus military equipment that is only made avaliable for police departments. Then they need to find something to do with these bad-ass military weapons, "Let's make a swat team!"
It's nice to see past the altruistic veneer many doctors try to maintain, thanks. Here's a hint, all income based on labor has been declining. It's a simple fact that our society does not value people who do things. You should rethink some of your positions if you value people who do things, not people who "create jobs" or "direct investments".
I sincerely hope you will break out of the conservative mindset that tries to keep things from evolving. In my experience, most conservatives don't have real knowledge of history other then the heavily sanitized versions put forth by fellow conservatives trying to advance an agenda.
BTW: in all seriousness, if you think my job can be done by a kid with a calculator and a formula sheet, yet is obscenely highly paid, why don't you do it?
AMA, but your probably anti-union too...
I don't see any way to cut healthcare spending without eliminating the majority of private insurance. Tying insurance to employment is disastrous if you actually get sick or have a major accident. Obama tried, but his own party forced him to eat a shit sandwich and smile. I don't see the GOP ever coming around to reality on that and afew other planks, but I could be wrong. I would like to see more GOP recognition that Bush2 and Reagan were disasters.
You are a fool, a denier, or woefully uneducated if you think the Civil War was about anything other then slavery. Yes, many civil liberties and some state's rights were suspended. Most came back only to disappear again due to the Red Scare / rise of the corporation. The erosion slowed only to accelerate in the Reagan era and Bush really put the torch to them.
The Southern states treated the majority of their citizens like crap pre-civil war. They had enough power to push some of their policies into the national arena. Take a look at the Fugitive Slave Act and the proposed Crittendom amendment. Slavery was an evil erosion of the rights of every American. A slave state will always tend towards a military state. All the information is there, it is just often ignored by our current educations system.
The South was all about using the Federal government to supress State rights and civil liberties of any individula. They just hid behind state's rights when the tide of public opinion turned against them.
I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you were just served poorly in your education, but don't let it happen again. MSM has nothing on MSH (mainstream history).
OpenSuse is an awesome distribution. They appear to have an autonomous board. Suse is still doing great things for OS. If you haven't tried Suse Studio you are missing out.
That kind of noise can create background tension over time and harm your hearing. I used to pop earplugs if I was in the data center for more then an hour or so, because I would just get tense and irritated from the noise over a long period. I would try finding some quieter fans. I pulled the fan entirely from a 24 port switch that I use and have had no issues. I use maybe a dozen ports at any given time.
I agree, it irritates me when I hear people complain they are on a fixed income. Aren't we all on a fixed income? I know I can't rack up the OT whenever I fell like it.
I prefer to pipe headless servers out the serial console. That way I can just plug in a laptop instead of dragging out a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I should see if that works on my headless server that I use a GUI nx session on. I've been hesitant to test.

If unions are so bad and are not needed, why are those other non-union jobs paying half what the union jobs pay?
If the HSA contract stipulates a $500 fine for workers or companies that are not on an authorized list it might work..

I was much more diplomatic then that, but if the shoe fits...

Thank you for exposing your personal bias, but I think both are equal.
That is kind of a straw man argument. This system has been around for a long time, maybe a decade and nobody has been stupid enough to mandate it.

And what Republican planks do you agree with?
I'm pretty sure I we would not classify him as "not rich" if we viewed his accounts. Rich people like to pretend they are slumming it.
So when your talking about taxes a man's labor is sancrosect, but when you are the owner of capitol labor plays second fiddle?

People's lives have no value but cost some company or rich person money (even imaginary income) and they throw the book at you.
fixed it for you
Yes, outsourcing is always more expensive then insourcing an identical product.
