If we can't find Bin Laden using Google Earth, then perhaps we can use it to find Lance Davis, the main project administrator for CentOS ? Ooops, wrong article...
Whaddayamean, unexpected ? Wasn't this totally to be expected, as their doing essentially the same stuff as napster et al used to do in the past ? And got sued for ? And lost ?
Whaddayamean, 7800 ? I remember playing these games on the Atatri 2600 console as a kid, released in 1977, although the 7800 was almost fully backward-compatible with the 2600.
IBM has clearly stated that it wont assert these patents against the open source community, but will only assert them to anyone who tries to use them against the open source community. 'Nuff said.
What I haven't been able to make out of either of the company's website's, is whether they offer 'only' a servlet engine like Tomcat, or a full J2EE Application Server ? It seems to me like they would need at least a full J2EE Application Server like Geronimo to make any sort of threat ?
Obviously, it is ridiculous that once's sexual preference has anything to do with being allowed to play video games on any given environment. Hopefully this statement from Microsoft will see a sharp drop in sales of the XBOX in favor of other consoles, but I fear that Microsoft will simply get away with this....
Although it's nice to see Linux as a threat to the Microsoft marketshare, the pie chart in the linked topic shows piracy or 'unlicensed' copies of Windows as the biggest threat. I guess that people do still like or are forced to use Windows, but are just not capable or unwilling of providing the cash for the operating system.
Rather than promote just open or just closed source, I think it would be far more productive if government agencies would be required to consider both open and closed source solutions alongside each other, and then select the best candidate based on 'best-fit' for any given task.
Was TrueCrypt all of a sudden supposed to be a virus scanner or malware remover ?
There supposed to be faster, right ?
... Its Full Of *Stars* ...
... Using Google Earth ! See ? Told you you could find people using Google Earth! Now, off to find Bin Laden...
Don't expect us to take this kind if crap forever. We can 'vote with our wallets'.

No, this pretty much *is* a definition of a "benevolent dictatorship".
... stupid me, thinking that 'The Cloud', actually *was* a $300 Million Data Center...
... as Palmer (David Clennon) says in John Carpenters The Thing (1982), as Norris' head grows legs and tries to walk away ...

"Most sigs are like fine wines -- best appreciated when drunk." I totally agree :P
Seriously, IBM Tivoli Storage Manager http://www-01.ibm.com/software/tivoli/products/storage-mgr/, formerly Adstar, is used by many large corporations.
Somehow I can't shake the feeling that this is a similar product as 'Groove' from a few years back...
