Mac OS X --------------- Pros: Lack of virii, easy remote administration, friendly interface, Office suite, flexibility, able to network easily with other Macs and (slightly more difficultly) with Windows or Linux/Unix Cons: Some people won't touch a Mac because they're predisposed into thinking it sucks.
Linux -------- Pros: Lack of (numerous) virii, relatively easy remote administration, stable, cheap, flexible, able to network with other computers running Linux/Unix Windows, Mac Cons: Slightly more difficult, espeically troubleshooting
Windows ------------- Pros: "Everyone" uses it, likely least infrastructure changes, perhaps some familiarity Cons: Unstable (don't even talk to me about XP, it's just as bad), open to virii and numerous other vuln's, potentially difficult troubleshooting (believe me, I've worked with other college kids' computers in the dorms)
Verdict ---------- Who cares as long as it's not Windows! Though with the recent debacle with Dell's mandatory license agreement, the Macs might be the better option.
I think the parallels go deeper than that. Look at the upper right hand corner of the screenies and you'll notice that the buttons are now colorless. Presumably, to keep with what I've seen of WinXP, they'll prolly turn colors when you mouse over them, similarly to OS X. Also, objects (like images) on the screen apparently are no longer "boxy", meaning they can overlap other elements. Funny how another pretty OS we know can do that and has been able to since ~2000/2001.
Mind you, I'm no expert and haven't seen this in person so I may be way off base. Still, if the images are to be believed...
There is a simple solution. Apple Menu->Force Quit... or Command-Shift-Esc.
Just like any other application, Software Update can be forced to quit. When it finishes writing out the update to disc and asks you to restart, just force quit Software Update and restart your computer when you're done with whatever you're busy with.
...but it has a "Monty Python" foot next to the article, a general indication that the story is FUNNY more than anything else and NOT to be taken seriously.
Personally I thought it was funny and I laugh even more that others would take it seriously.
I live in WI and my first chance to vote when I turned 18 I voted Feingold. But in all honesty, who's fault is it this got passed? Who allowed their civil liberties to be taken away. Those 425 and 100 people represent us, US citizens. Obviously we didn't do our part, informing them that they're not doing what we want. The Constitution was formed to preserve our rights and that our politicians should be subject to us. Yet we act like we're at their mercy. I guess no one remembers which way it's supposed to work.

Curl up in the corner in the fetal position and cry yourself to sleep. It may not get you a job but there's a lot less legal wrangling. :D

APNIC is just a letter switch away from PANIC. Not exactly an organization I'd put a lot of faith in... :)

Nevermind. My bad...
Rune for Win32 is based on the Quake 3 engine. Did I miss something and Loki ported it to Unreal?
