    I bet little cash has been donated, but i would imagine quite a bit of time has been.

    A lot of people that 'care' don't have wealth to spread around so they give themselves instead.

    My look at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation shows it was founded with two primary purposes:

    - Tax dodge--giving money to a charity reduces his personal income taxes. By giving it to a charity he controls, he gets additional benefits.
    - As PR for Microsoft against the anti-trust investigation.

    When you have that kind of money,that is what you do...

    But doing that does have an effect of helping people in spite of yourself.

    They never dreamed that she could/would stick with it this long so they are getting worried. They are used to just bulling people into submission.

    I agree they need to compensate her for their unacceptable tactics.

    This needs to be plastered across every news station in the country ( but we know it wont, as the *AA is the TV industries buddy )

    look up the contributors to your representatives before voting, and strike anyone who has accepted money from the entertainment cartels or their lobbyists.

    Or any other cartel... Which pretty much means all of them as that is how it works.

    Even the ones that don't accept payoffs, are just newbies and will as they are indoctrinated into the system.

    I agree something like Xen supports most OS's , but I think if someone installed a *full* VM you would notice. I was thinking they would only get away with a tiny one, and it would be limited on what it could support/emulate. But i suppose if they were targeting you personally, they would know what PC you had and what hardware it had to emulate.

    I know id be suspicious if suddenly my video card changed overngight....

    Hardware i agree.

    But i think that a miniscule hyper-visor based monitor would have troubles with encrypted booting, and would have to be OS specific since so many now bypass bios ( and thus standard keyboard/video routines )?

    Bugging your house with cameras and microphones is legal with the proper court order, so i don't see any difference.

    They can wait until you are gone under some circumstances, and setting up for long term surveillance would qualify.

    I think most countries have this right already. Its called a warrant. It is issued by a judge to allow searches and seizures You DONT have to be informed.

    This sounds only like its lowering the burden bar, not creating a 'new right of the state'.

    If you purchase a product with reasonable assumption that its not stolen, you are not a criminal. True, you will lose possession with little recourse if its discovered as stolen by the authorities, but you don't go to jail automatically.

    Not going to continue the signature thread with you as you are obviously an idiot that cant see beyond his own hang-ups and prejudices ( but i will give you the hint that you failed the very test the signature represents )

    If you encrypt your drive, and don't leave it running while you are gone, unless they guess your password not much they can do.

    Warrants can be issued for 'suspicion'.

    A thief cannot convey good title. The person with the stolen computer is in exactly the same position as the person who finds him/herself with counterfeit money. SOL

    Ok smart ass.. isn't that what i said in the first place in effect? The difference is that he wont be arrested, unlike the supposed guy with the 'mother-load'.

    And that only applies if you get caught, your stolen TV works just as well as a purchased one. The counterfeit money is harder to 'make work' so that isn't a real fair comparison.. ( and if you are a business, you get to write it off so you really aren't SOL in all situations )

    Also, concerning my signature, did i say his actions were ( or were not ) admirable? I only said he was a patriot. Go look up the definition and then come back with your 'higher then now' self and try to figure the real meaning of it..

    who will doubtlessly say "I bought it from _____ on the street, I thought it was legit." You will surely get your computer back, and if you find a motherlode of computers, he will surely go to jail.

    Id put down a 10 $ bill that its changed hands several times by the time it gets plugged in and the poor schmuck with it now has no clue.
