While it would do a much better job cooling then just blowing air around, it sounds like a nightmare to maintain, with coolant lines running everywhere.
If they can start selling enough pcs to take over the market, they can get rid of all those pesky resellers that always want discounts, and try to sell 'bare' hardware against Microsoft's wishes.
If they are the only game in town, you cant avoid the microsoft tax..
Who would honesty trust their data to some company that you dont even have a valid contract with? ( i dont care if its yahoo, microsoft, or countless others )
Sure, if you are paying customer to a remote datacenter with TOS, i can see this, but some free service that is subject to terms that change on a dime, security holes all over the place, or it might suddenly dissapear?
No thanks, ill stick with my ( encrypted ) 2gb usb key, that doesnt even need network access.
If the school wants to sell out its students, its time for them to move on.
Acting as a common carrier, the school doesn't HAVE to comply with the *AA, and shouldn't. ( now if the demand came from a *judge*, that is a different story, and there would be some debate, but not some company )
Thats just short term profits, I think in the long run turning their products ( computer that is ) into 'yet another intel box' will come back to bite them in the long run.
Dont get me wrong i AM an apple fan, and have been since day 1, but I still feel it was a short sighted sellout. But i guess only time will prove if he was right or not. If they are still relevant in the personal computer market in 15 years , then he was right.
I *never* said he was perfect. It just has gotten really old to hear them complain that *everything* bad that goes on in government ( hell, even non government if you listen to the real wackos ) is his fault. It almost started from day one and i personally and sick of hearing it.
The 'system' has been around long before him, will be long after him. Besides the president does not have *that* much power in the first place. Its the *system* that is at fault for most of the wrongs in government, not one man.
Not in the least. Its his privilege to do this, and its one place he can show favoritism if he wants too.
I do agree with disclosure, but the topic at hand was 'suing for bandwidth usage', not suing about the content of what was being sent.
Agreeing to required bandwidth usage as part of the use of an application isn't quite the same as your silly example.
Considering you indirectly agreed to it all in the EULA, i doubt it.
Welcome to 2007...
You can count the number of apps that currently support 64 bit windows on one hand.. ( ok, not quite that bad, but close ).
Hell, not all of micrsoft apps dont even support it yet, and its THEIR OS.
By the time this matters to their target market, it will have been taken care of.
While it would do a much better job cooling then just blowing air around, it sounds like a nightmare to maintain, with coolant lines running everywhere.
Sure, you can claim it. But can you fight me off when i go up and stick my flag there? I might want some ice cubes too.
So they decide if your OS is approved, or your antivirus vendor?
10 bucks its their 'partners' that are the only ones you get to use.
Corporate buyers are the majority of Microsoft's money making market, so its still a thorn in their side.
It's not his if he signed a traditional contract. The label takes ownership of anything they create during the contract's run.
But, if he wants to fight the big guys on this, more power to him.
If they can start selling enough pcs to take over the market, they can get rid of all those pesky resellers that always want discounts, and try to sell 'bare' hardware against Microsoft's wishes.

The immigration bill was bad bad bad.. If the also bad national ID clause is what killed it.. great!
What? You want to see my papers?

But ask the author, and he will tell you he was NOT the man.
And if you really watch closely, its pretty obvious that he was a replicant.
Now, do you feel stupid for dropping the PowerPC and alienating all of the long-term Apple fans?
They are afraid of everyone..even their customers.
It's lonely at the top.
While it would be nice, I doubt it. They have too much $ to prop them up, even if they get a minor blackeye along the way.
Or perhaps its just your incorrect, twisted, and biased view of the world, and not my so called 'lack of real information'.
And its apparent that you don't even understand my signature in the slightest. Think outside the tiny little box you operate out of sometime.
Just for the record, grammar and typo checking here isn't worth the trouble.
No, i call it typos and lack of proof reading.
He never was a *man* he was a replicant.

But if they were accurate on stuff like this, they wouldn't work everyone that doesnt haev time to read the story ito a frenzy.
It also gives the Bush bashers an excuse to bitch and moan ( as pretty obvious from upper posts )
