This trash was not part of the *original* Omni, but what it became towards the bitter end. When Omni finally closed up shop it was a shadow of what it was in the early days, and long overdue.
Ill check it out of course, but ill hold hopes until i see if they can recover the old magic. I doubt they pull it off.
1 - "Because you can" is a good enough reason. 2 - Just because you can make one here out of steel legally doesn't mean you will be able to tomorrow. It also takes more skill and effort to do it the 'right' way.. Anyone can download a file, press "print" and yank a finished object out of a printer. 3 - If you can manage to print things that can take the wear and tear of being a weapon, it advances the technology for use in other fields too.
Not in the least. Just because you don't have an attention span long enough to read past a 4 word tweet doesn't mean the rest of us doesn't.
Sure, email isn't appropriate for everything ( never was, that's why god made telephones and meetings ) but its still appropriate for many things, especially in the business world.
As mentioned above, i'm not talking about the 'raw' device as shipped, i'm talking about people that want to hack into it and spend the time and trouble figuring out how.
If you want to hack something, why not choose something more hack friendly?
If all you want to do is use it, then perhaps it is a better choice. ( until i see one, ill hold judgement )
But 'home users' wont be going out and trying to load an alternative OS on their device. Those that will want to do this know about the more open alternatives.
My comments are about why bother 'rooting' it, not using it.

You're nuts.
And you are clueless.

If its a good salary, sure.
At some point it will require a license to purchase and own machine tools too.
its all part of the plan to get 3D printers heavily regulated, if not outright banned.
3D printing represents freedom. Cant have that.
1 - You need proof that you were infected
2 - You need proof THEY did it
3 - Do you really want to be on *that* list?
So what happened to assumed innocent and targeted court orders? Just because TOR can be used in bad ways doesn't mean you have to.
If they do this, why not just track every car and what is in it? Mount GPS and cameras in every car.
That is still a security problem. You want end-to-end encryption on the client, and not store it somewhere else, even encrypted.

Get used to it. The genie is out of the bottle, it wont be going back in.
Instead of wasting resources on a losing battle to stop it, work around it.
We know this trend will never end, so might as well start planning for it now.
If we all encrypt, they can record as much as they want. It wont get them anywhere.
I like night. Sun is evil. People out during the day are fools.
It's also quieter, and cooler in the summer.
This would be nice, and have all the modules, not just some.
I was hoping for an actual management system. So you can you know, 'manage' your portable devices from a central point.
Being able to make them scream when they are lost.. .*yawn*
What matters is the writing..
It came from Koffice.
AT&T :)
Right, we have our problems, but its still a better place than most of the world.
Its all about perception and being jaded..
When its the other guy that gets the shaft.
So i guess you are not allowed to own your own phone.
The reality is that most people really don't care. They just want a toaster.

I don't think its a Google problem, its the carriers.
