  1. Re:Quick, call GreenPeace! on Global Warming Mostly Confirmed - On Mars · · Score: 0

Actually, there is still a lot of debate about wether or not global warming is happening. But that is really irrelevant.

I read a while back about how the Earth is supposed to be moving on it's axis. Where now the Earth tilts roughly 23 degrees this way, it is moving so it will end up tilting the other way. I think it is really interesting that no one has brought up how this could account for the changes in our weather pattern.
Perhaps if we were able to go back and take a close look at Mars 1000 years ago, we would notice that it, too, is shifting on its axis.

But the simple truth is, we do not know if global warming is happening because of our actions, changes in our orbit, or just the natural trends that have happened on the planet for a long time. We will not know. In a few millenia when it becomes apparent, I don't plan on being here.

Unfortunately, the federal government has to give their consent for you to sue them. I always thought that was a really stupid law. I guess now I know why they instituted it.

Do you realize just how stupid most people are? They'll spend $5 in gas to drive to a cheaper store and save $0.50 on a box of cereal. More power to them, I have my proxy server running. They can make all the money they want off the stupidity of the general public.

I do nothing that bothers my own sensibilities, and everyone else can take a flying leap into an empty pool.

With the poll today being about RAM implants, I find this a really interesting story. Since people are usually wrong more than .2% of the time anyway, how long do you think it will be until this concept is used for implants?

  6. Type Cast? on Ask Bruce Campbell Anything... · · Score: 0

Some actors get very upset when they feel they've been type cast, partially because it makes finding roles more difficult. Do you feel you've been type cast, and how do you feel about that? Personally, I love the characters you've played (Especially in Escape from LA), but would like to see you in a more serious role.

  9. support, or customer service? on Do Manufacturers Adequately Support Their Products? · · Score: 1

In dealing with Dell in the past, I've noticed their support and customer service SUCK! They have "Service Tags" they use to keep track of your PC. I called with my service tag and described my PC in great detail. It's a compact little thing that will NOT hold a standard CD-Rom drive. I wanted to be absolutely sure my company ordered the correct drives to fit in this thin slot. I don't think they listened to anything I said, and we ended up with the wrong CD-Rom's. It took a lot of complaining, but we finally got the issue corrected.
Other companies I've dealt with have been eager to help and/or correct any problems, even if it meant sending out a new item and allowing me to wait and send the old one back in the box the new one comes in. Usually, they'll even include a shipping label so I don't even have to pay for postage on their deficient product. Others have told me they have bad experiences with the same companies I have good experiences with, so keep looking. I'm not afraid to use the, "I've spent $X here in the last month and if you want to see any more of my business..." routine.

The only thing I can say about policy makers like that is that they provide carbon dioxide for the plant life.
