I've been wanting locales such as those in Crazy Taxi in more games for a while now. I'm tired of moving around real cities with fictional storefronts.
We seem to have realistic graphics without anything real to put in them!
Kids these days, assuming everyone's got 128 megabytes for their application. They just don't code 'em like they used to.
One of the CSci profs at UMN flat out says something along the lines of, "Don't bother making your programs small; just make them easy to manage."
Then last week, they basically send an e-mail saying that they didn't care if we downloaded stuff, as long as we didn't upload stuff. I'm too lazy to go and check the e-mail, but I believe it gave directions on how to turn off uploads in KaZaA. Weird.
Same goes with UMN.
Now that they have Packeteer running, I think they may even be more relaxed.
