    Kerry's flipflopping?! Don't tell me you fell for that bullshit. It was repeatedly demonstrated that if anyone was flipflopping, it was Bush himself. His PR machine just made it look like Kerry did it. Most examples of "flipflopping" on Kerry's part were pure lies.

    Yeah. They can just keep using the ones for the gamecube. Its the same hardware, after all.
    Same hardware... Yeah, it was only built from the ground up specifically for Wii, at least 2.5 times more powerful, power consumption being 1/3 of the GameCube's... But yeah, it's the exact same hardware. It's not like new mobile phones that have longer battery time and more power (but still not as powerful as a PC) are state of the art or anything. The only thing that counts is the number of textured polygons you can push around at the same time! Everything else is... just the same hardware, after all.

    Um, yes, Opera Software has been doing them for years. Its main success so far has, in fact, been in the mobile market with its full browser which uses the same core as the PC version. Nokia has used Opera for many years, Motorola signed up to use Opera a while ago, and recently Samsung joined in and wanted Opera's full mobile browser too. Lately, the full Opera browser has been included on Motorola ROKR, Razrx, MOTORAZR, A910, and more, and several Sony Ericsson models such as W950, P990, M600, and so on. Nokia keeps shipping Opera too, even though the company has created its own full browser based on Safari.

    A damaged human is still a human. If you see a car wreck, you still recognize it as a car. But if you see parts on an assembly line, you realize that it is not yet a car. It might become one (that is not certain at all), but it is not and never was a car.

    However, if you drive your car into a tree or blow the engine, it's still a car. It was once a car, and it is still recognizable as one.

    Funny but I have a friend that believes just as you do. Yet when his wife has a miscarriage he wore back for a week and grieved. If it wasn't a person and just tissue then why?

    He isn't, which is why he used the word "probably". And he probably says "probably" because the police didn't seem to have any good leads that would lead (heh) to a capture in the near future.

    As for whether cameras and all that are good or bad... no idea :)

    That's a load of bullshit. Plenty og pro-MS posts are modded up, provided that they are rational and informative. For example, I am a fairly satisfied Windows user, and I have never been modded down for stating so. However, I refrain from trolling when posting about how I feel that Windows is what works best for me.

    Well, the point is that the impression I get is that Opera just does whatever Nintendo tells them. When you ask the Opera people "will it do this or that", they say something like "that's Nintendo's call".

    But certainly, Opera gets paid :)

    If the paddle had no safety strap to begin with, I wouldn't even think of blaming the paddle or its manufacturer.
    Why not? The paddle has a part that you are supposed to grip. If that does not allow you to keep it in your hand, it is clearly defective.

    Nintendo still calls the shots. If you visit Opera's forums and ask, all they can say is "it's up to Nintendo", "ask Nintendo", etc.

    Correction: you are paying Nintendo. Opera is just delivering the browser. Either it was paid in advance or they get a cut. But it's the official Internet Channel on Wii and not just some random browser Opera figured they would port.

    I have a browser on my computer, so why would I want one on a videogame console?
    I have a car, so why would I need a bicycle?

    Different tools for different tasks and all that... If I'm relaxing on my couch, why would I get up, walk upstairs, boot up my computer, wait for Windows to load, etc., when I could just remain in front of my TV and check my mail or whatever from there?

    And before you start explaining how your PC is always on, you have a laptop, etc. Yeah yeah, so maybe you don't need it. But lots of people will find it useful.

    Also... you make it sound as if Nintendo is the one that made the browser and is selling it. In fact, Opera put money into porting a browser (and by all accounts it works really well) and is selling it through Nintendo's Shopping Channel.
    Then why is Nintendo making all the announcements and calling all the shots (ask Opera's support people and all they say is "we can't comment, it's up to Nintendo"?

    As far as I can tell, this is "Nintendo's browser". Everything I've read about it indicates that Nintendo calls the shots. Opera probably just got paid in advance or gets part of the profits.

    When? And are you sure it's a bug in Opera, and not the menu script specifically disabling the menus for Opera? That's usually the case if menus don't work. Try masking as Mozilla, reload the page, and it will probably work fine.

    Not really. The numbers vary wildly. I don't know where you got the 0.6% figure from, but it sounds like nonsense. The browser stats are usually gathered by web ad companies, and it's a known fact that Opera doesn't download stuff as often as other browsers. It caches stuff a lot more efficiently, so it doesn't download ads or various tracking resources (images, external JS files, etc.) as often.

    Don't try to fucking justify Sony's bullshit by talking about irrelevant crap like "the other guys would get away with it, boo hoo". The other guys didn't do this. Sony did. Whether anyone else would get away with this or not is just speculation, but coming from you I bet it's a Sony employee's desperate attempt at fending off well deserved criticism of his employer.

    You are looking at it the wrong way. Life the way it is exists because of the conditions on this planet. It's not that life the way it exists is a specific goal, and this planet had to meet those specific goals for this specific life to exist. It's that life exists because the conditions for life to exist this way were there.

    Are you referring to this? It says nothing of the sorts.
    Why has no other monkeys (or fish, or birds, or whatever) turned human in the past (insert whatever number you like) years?
    Are you serious? It's not like the human species is something that everything is supposed to evolve into eventually. Why would other things evolve into humans?

    You have demonstrated that you think there is some higher purpose to everything, that there's a final goal, such as humans, or life on Earth as it exists today. You need to stop that, because that's religion talking.

    It's not the job of a patrol cop to punish.
    They tried to get a dangerous individual who kept resisting arrest under control. I'm not saying that it was right to punch him in the face, but consider their position here. If they are unable to control this man, their lives are at risk.
    If the suspect has tried to resist arrest, they're charged with that and tried via due process.
    That won't help the police officer who wants to go home to his wife in the evening, rather than being killed by a dangerous criminal who managed to resist arrest.
    Punching someone in the face is not necessary to restrain them especially when the person being punched is unable to breathe and as a result will die.
    He could shout. How could he get the air into his lungs to shout if he couldn't breathe? See, as someone else pointed out, criminals (and others) will use all sorts of tricks to get away with shit. He will yell "can't breathe", not because he can't breathe, but because he thinks he can gain some sort of advantage.
