IMHO, it is great that image processing software provides a set of command-line programs. It is easy to extend the functionalities of the software by writing some scripts that utilize those command-line programs. I did write some perl scripts that combine some command-line programs of ImageMagick. These scripts help me to organize a lot of images taken by DC. They do great jobs.
I also expect some commercial image procssing software (e.g., Adobe photoshop) may export some command-line programs.
It is a good thing that there is a site aggreagting rich code seqment examples. The code segment is not necessary too long, therefore people can catch the point more quickly. OpenSnippets may be a good start. But it seems there are too many OSS developing sites in the world. Too many premuture sites may disperse the development power of OSS.
The telecoms seem to be more conservative on the VoIP and Wi-Fi. The telecom guys think in different way from Internet people. I worry the traditional telecoms may obstruct the development of Internet telecommunction.
So what? Many people wanna hack into computer just because hacking is interesting. They do that just for fun. Writing someone's own OS can quench his/her thirst of knowledge.

I think SCS is better.

VoIP and WiFi make a great combination, too. They, together with 3G, make near ubiquitous communication?
