*During this time heavy religious influence took over the Republican Party in many places in america through the abuse of quorums (sp?) and really pushed out the Liberal Republicans (Yes, there WERE Liberal Republicans). Also the 2 dimensions of political parties is wrong anyway, it's more like 4, for a basic understanding.
I personally find the smaller newer parties like Civil Libertarians and Green to be Essentially Left Wing Republicans (Libertarian), and Right Wing Democrats (Green). But not in the sense of what is currently considered left or right wing.
Poverty is the wrong word. These countries we outsource to stop being impoverished by getting an economy that brings money into the country (manufacturing, outsourcing, etc).
Marx thought that capitalism would come and go very quickly as he thought price wars would destroy companies because they could only make chairs as good as each other. There was no real concept of innovation ot fast paced invention (in his time, he was close to right), which has been the driving force of capitalism.
Why would you need to buy a new chair unless it had worn out? Because a new and improved one was made. This sort of awful analogy to innovation is what has made the capitalist economy so strong, plsu I believe human beings simply want "better" more often than they want "good enough."
If you think that eventually all nations will have economies that cancel each other out (sort of like what Marx did about capitalism) you may be right, or you may end up being wrong (as Marx was, to a certain extent). Then again you wait long enough, your viewpoint becomes correct.
iTunes, at least for Mac has a sdk for hardware (this was how one of the iTunes 4 network sharing over internet hacks happened).
AAC is not DRM, iTunes Music Store DRMed music files are also encoded in AAC (which is higher quality at same biterate than mp3 (closer to ogg/wma)).
Slowness, the real speed issues with iTunes on PC comes from it's having to support so many cd burners out of the box..err download, and the poorly optimized services. Plus it is rather new to Windows and hasn't had the time to become mature. Unlike other free software availible, iTunes MUST work for all their customers, and though it too is free, iTunes MUST work for potential customers. If stability comes from not being bleeding edge fast, then so be it.
I was walking by a delorean (literally less than 8.4 hours ago) and I thought DAMN that car is small, I couldn't fit in it. There goes a small childhood dream. Thanks to that, I can't really imagine owning one.
These are partially submerged, and they are too close together for coast guard rescue choppers to get in safely, especially given the wind conditions. Yeah, you essentially nailed it, they are being put in the natucket sound.
Well, about MA. Those windfarms are being builts by a rather disreputable CEO (who's currently being sued in either RI or CN for fraud in relation to another "cleaner energy" company), are not profitable w/out government subsidy, and are being built on free federal land not having to pay taxes/etc. The Propeller tech they are using isnt the most efficient because it attracts birds, and in 5 years they could be moved miles out where you could use really efficient technology, not make it impossible for rescue helicopters to pickup people in heavily traficked areas of sailing/boating/commercial fishing (my cousin was in an accident, had these been up hed be deaD).
the 1.6ghz they are using is also.90nm, but draws less power, allowing them as another who replied to you said, pack 2x as many into a rack.
No offense to you, but I really hate/. as so many people only look at numbers to say how much power or worth something has, and knock anything else. Your post you just didnt know they could fit 2x as many per rack, but many people would draw the conclusion that the apples are a better deal regardless. Space/Power consumption/speed are all important to businesses who buy blades.
Another Solution looking for a problem would be the lightbulb.. At first it was utterly useless in just about any scenario compared to candles. Guess a lot changes over time then?
This is what I have been waiting for. eInk screen tech with hundreds of books/encyclopedias stored locally or if we can do wifi/bluetooth-cellphone connection at my fingertips.
I want this now, its perfect, it just needs a lot of money to take off and get a decent library.
I think the whole be an optimist in the face of absolute danger concept was lost on you. And it is "if you hear the bullet whistle, you aren't shot" or something to that effect, as when you hear the whistle it means if flew past you.

I wish you people would get it through your heads! You (say it with me) ARE NOT breaking the law.
In fact unless you distribute to many people, or intend to charge money for copies you are STILL not breaking the law.

WMV... FLAC... Vorbis... All standards right?
some of the ceos pull in so much money through being REALLY good salesmen that those salaries are worth it for the betterment of the fund.
Some senators need to make a 100k dollars a day to be able to stay in the senate, think about it.
Spell checker? Can you tell me where Philipenis is?
I think he meant if the "message" annoys you, if you get over the message you can hear some good rythms, vocals, etc and respect it.

Kinda harsh to attack the little guy for selling when often enough they had no other choice.
Check the fine print. Those images are renderings.
Rather thank you personally for that than mod your post funny. Again, Thankyou.

40 acres and a mule was a promise by Sherman to ex-Slaves who helped him or were freed by him during his run through the south.
The CONCEPT of 40 acres and a mule means reparations . I do hope you arent confusing the two, and are just being sarcastic.

Some of us here were using computers at age 4, or removing viruses at age 5. Not completely out of the ordinary for /.

Sharp Actius predates the titanium powerbooks, let alone the aluminum ones. Yes, it has always been a super thin, metallic looking laptop.
