As if this isn't enough publicity. The apple 2 community is going pretty strong. We have a news site a2central.com We have a community at syndicomm.com We have a quarterly magazine juiced.gs We have a compact flash reader, ethernet boards, and hard drive controllers are still being manufacuted. There is still software being released and old products for sale (see a2central.com).
Even when watching the digitally projected version of AoC, I noticed that during the large digital sequences the actors looked fake. It's really ironic that we are at a point now that digital looks more real than reality.
Perhaps for Ep III they can develop cameras that will have the same resolution as the renderer that they use. (Maybe something like a digital IMAX, which doesn't exist to my knowledge)
Honestly I don't really care about 3G. I would much prefer to be able to drive from work to my house (13 miles) without losing a call 3 or 4 times.
Phone companies should spend less time with data services and make voice work. Consumer reports has an article on Cellular this month. They say that 2% of all calls on a cell phone drop in the first 2 minutes.
I didn't realize that the Linux kernel was a commercial product. When did this change? Perhaps someone from the Linux Company should have sent out a press release.
Really.....
It is really bothersome that "Mainstream Computer Media" just doesn't get it. This is still a product by hackers, for hackers. We'll put a lovely interface on it eventually and it may go consumer, but ala MacOSX the internals will always be for the hacker.
I wonder what operating system they are running. :)
Last thing they bought on ebay was a #21.00 (can't find the pound key) laptop harddrive.

Weird.
Many of the disk images on asimov are there illegally as the copyright is still owned by the authors.
asimov is the apple 2 warez site for all practical purposes.

That is unacceptable.
It looks like in the press release that if you subscribe to TPJ you will get a free subscription to SysAdmin as well.
I hope that TPJ still comes as a whole separate magazine, at http://www.samag.com/tpj/ they call it a suplement.
