Personally, I buy my gasoline at random gas stations here in Montana... And considering most of our crude comes from Canada (and most of the rest from Mexico), your presumption is correct, Sir. Good on you. As for the rest of America, well... you might be surprised how little of their oil money actually goes to Arabs... http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/oil_gas/petroleum/data_ publications/company_level_imports/current/import. html
If they also blow me off, then I think I should look for something really simple - like security guard - where I can just open and close a gate - just one button to press...
Actually, I think they're automating that with biometrics now.
Of course, if you already have $10,000 * n to spend on patents, in order to get n classes of goods free for life, you probably don't need to go through this process do you?;-)
And don't forget that, like 50-cent pieces, there just isn't a slot in most cash drawers reserved for them. So, when they come in, they get tossed into the "catch-all" slot with those free-soda bottlecaps, checks and large bills (unless those are under the register).
Anyway, come change time, the cashier can either 1) dig through multiple types of coins and misc crap to give out dollar or 50-cent coins, or 2) give out the easily-accessible dollar bills and/or "normal" coins like quarters. Guess which they're more anxious to give out with several impatient-looking people waiting in line!
Yes, this is possible to fix... But you try convincing retailers to buy all-new cash drawers--which I'd guess would either have to be wider (new registers too), or have narrower change slots which you can't dump into from your change counter's bins(yup, new change counter).
(Yeah... I cashiered through a lot of college at a hardware store.)
Well... If we go from "almost no one clicks the ads" to "absolutely no one has clicked an ad in 6 months"... Either the site is paid per click, in which case the revenue is already gone; or, the site is paid per viewing, but the advertisers get tired of no ROI and stop I'ing in slashdot ads. Then, Rob maybe figures it out;-)
Unless we all *only* block Flash ads and any popups, of course.
Kids *can* do research while at the library and not have to be tethered. They have these neat-o things called "books," which are actually quite portable. You can even take a few at a time home with you. Or... and here's the best part... you can take these "books" along if you go outside or to the mall; however, you may find it's exponentially harder to concentrate on research while in the mall.
But even if we could make our own stars, wouldn't we still have the slight problem of energy escaping from the system? Unless you plan to encase the whole of habitated space in a perfectly-insulated, mirrored sphere or something... And can recapture all of the energy the star has given off, reconverting it back to fuel for the star with 100% efficiency. But "who says" we can't do that, right?;-)
Nooo... The settlement would have been less than or equal to $351,000. Did you mean to type "a month's supply"?
It's pronounced "frawnk en sween"

Cool... I only have an athlon and an athlon xp. And a growing stock portfolio.
What happened on November 9, 2001?
Actually that's called "unjust enrichment"... Like "stealing" cable TV.
Thanks!!
Using ANWR to meet our energy needs is well and good... but what will we do NEXT week?
Speaking of "pharmacuticals"... I'll have what you're having.
...saving the best for last?

Naw, I want to be a supplier of slings and conveniently pre-bagged stones.
Just OOC, did you ask him how many screws he'd been using to hold the board in?
Does anyone remember the hassles that Mozilla went through before we got the "Firefox" browser?
Do you work for VH1?
Actually, checkinstall does rpm and tgz packages too... I use it quite happily on slackware.
Never take legal advice from anyone who can't spell "judgment."

Eh, habitated, inhabited... Woops, long yardworky day in 90 degrees.

And don't forget your Faraday Flashlight!
"Anyone else having difficulty imagining a scenario where it would be "impossible" to kill somebody?"
*cough* Bin Laden *cough*
Immortality?
Well, ok... But you're going to get pretty dang bored after the last star goes out.
