    You gotta understand that assholes like Dianne Feinstein doesn't think like us.

    She thinks she's in the 0.1% elite, and for that, she ought to have the immunity from the same BIG BROTHER that she has thrown her support for.

    As for us, asshole Feinstein look at us as if we are peons, slaves for the elites, that we do not have any right to enjoy the protection granted by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and that we ought to be stripped of everything, and kow-tow to her and her kinds.

    I worked as a part time waiter while I was in college. One night I was waiting on a party of over 40 people (5 tables in all) and when I added up the final bill (it was in the '70s and there was no PC-based POS back then) manually (over 80 items in total, including drinks and desserts ) and handed it to the folks, an old guy looked at the bill and scolded me for "not doing it right".

    I was right and he was wrong, but, as he was the customer, I couldn't tell him that his math sux, so I did the next best thing - I call the manager and let him add up the total bill.

    It came up the same. (I did say I was right).

    The moral of this story is ... don't be harsh.

    Joe sixpacks don't do much math, and you don't get them to do extra-ordinary level of math without them feeling very sorry for themselves.

    Without her, I wouldn't know how to count. I wouldn't know how to add, to subtract, to multiply and to divide.

    Of course I did learn more advanced math in the school, but the foundation of my math was laid by my mom.

    Agree. If it were a temporary "we want to close this hole first" thing then I wouldn't have an issue, but silencing disclosure seems to be seen as an alternative to securing systems, which is not only wrong but bad security.

    Look around us ... The American journalists are doing exactly the same.

    Instead of reporting what needs to be reported, however bad/ugly the news be, they begin to modify the story in such a way that it can "easier be consumed" and/or "not rocking the boat" and/or "not jeopardizing the country", and so on, and so forth.

    So much so that Snowden had to share what he had with someone from UK instead of those from the US of A.

    Back to the lecture and the so-called "subject" ... Why should he pulled back on what he was going to say just because someone told him that what he said could be used by the terrorists ?

    The keyword is "could", which means, it's not certain at all that
    A. The terrorists would have the technological know how to carry out the sabotage
    B. The terrorists could locate the actual weaknesses of the infrastructure to carry out their attacks
    C. The terrorists never suspect that what he said is after all, a "honeypot"

    As all of us start to pulling in a little bit of ourselves, and as we continue to pull ourselves in, bit by bit, the big brother doesn't even need to lift his little pinky to achieve total control over our lives.

    We are the nerds. We are the engineers. We are the one who build and engineer and find faults within the systems.

    And if we start to NOT do what we are born to do - that is, to find faults to the existing systems, then we might just as well never been born.

    Resins are cheap and easy to mould. It shouldn't be too hard to make lenses out of resins.

    Plus there are some types of resins with the ability to absorb/refract part of the light frequencies, making them suitable to become "light filter", filtering out part of the light spectrum.

  12. I, for one, do welcome that test on New Blood Test Offers Early Warning for Alzheimer's Onset · · Score: 1

    While I do understand the ethical dilemma as outlined in TFA regarding the blood test for screening the Alzheimer's disease, I do welcome it.

    My reasoning is that if I take that test and it comes out positive (that is, there's a great chance I gonna get hit with it, in coming years / decades) it would at least give me more time to be better prepared.

    I can put in my will, before my Alzheimer's disease set in, that any other will that I do, after I'm hit with the Alzheimer's disease must be deemed not valid, for people around me could take advantage of my losing of cognitive ability and change my wish on how I want to allocate what I have left to whom I want to leave it with.

    I can also take better care of myself, in terms of cognitive health. Maybe I'll put more time in "brain exercise", or taking less food that may be contaminated with substances that have shown to be related to the Alzheimer's disease, such as Aluminium.

    You go try checking with other International Airlines ... and here is a short list of International Airlines that you can call up or write to ...
     
    Singapore Airline, or Cathay Pacific, or Dragon Air, or United Airways, or British Airways, or American Airline, or Quantas

    Go check with them exactly how many of their Pilots and/or First Officers were graduates of the MARA college.

    Go check now, and then come back and tell us how "international" the MARA graduates are.

    The truth is, out of the hundreds of airlines all over the world, only TWO airlines employ graduates from MARA as pilots / first officers.

    One is MAS, and its subsidiaries.

    The other is AirAsia, and its subsidiaries.

    Only these two airlines are reckless enough to employ graduates from MARA as pilots / first officers.

    As for the others ... why are they not hiring MARA graduates ? Why ???

    No trial yet, his free speech (as a journalist) removed, why?

    The United States of America was the country I fled to, after I got out of China.

    In the China I escaped from, back then, people could be locked up, without trial, and the authority could use any trump up charge against them, and there is nothing the people could do, as China has no "Bill of Rights" nor a Constitution that guarantees the rights of the citizens.

    Nowadays, in China, people are still being locked up, on trumped up charges, but at the very least, the authority has to try to prove that their trump up charge is valid (but of course everybody know that they are bullshit).

    On the other hand, the very country that I fled to, the United States of America has become the United Soviet of America.

    Not only the authority can lock up anyone with any trumped up charge, without any trial, the authority can also go against the Bill of Rights and the Constitution of the United States of America, as though both documents are now as worthy as a soiled toilet paper.

    What the fuck is going on, man ?

    Why are the Americans, - (and I am one of them, a naturalized American) - especially those who are born and bred, letting the nation to turn into such a horrible police state ??

    In Indonesia as well as in Malaysia I myself have carried out "experiments" when I board a plane.

    I put plastic bottles (some time one, some time more than one) and filled them up with liquids, and then put them into my luggage and also carry on luggage.

    They let me pass. No problem.

    And as I have mentioned in another comment - I have seen with my own eyes that the airport security officers let people (supposedly female) who cover up their face to pass the security checkpoint (without having to reveal their true face) and board the planes (all the while with their face covered).

    That is why I say, in Malaysia and in several other Asian countries, it will be very easy for any terrorist to board the plane.

    IMHO Investigators should have a careful look at the airport where the boarding took place

    As I live and travel a lot within Asia, I can tell you that many airports in Asia, particularly those in Indonesia and in Malaysia (and also in Thailand) are so lack in any security procedure that any suicide bomber can board a plane easily.

    And in Malaysia as well as in Brunei and in Indonesia, I have seen with my own eyes that they let women who cover up their faces passing through checkpoint and boarding planes.

    You are talking from a perspective of a Western folk who has no idea what is going on in other parts of the world.

    The airplane belongs to the Malaysian Airline System (MAS). The plane took off from the KLIA airport, again, of Malaysia. That radar which did the tracking (actually there were 4 radars doing the tracking) were all operated by ... Malaysians.

    Furthermore, the pilot and first officer of that plane were from Malaysia.

    Everything points to the same thing - Malaysia - a country whereby RACE means everything.

    That pilot is a Malay. The first officer is also a Malay. Both of them graduated from MARA college, a college which has produced the kind of graduates that the private sectors of Malaysia do not want to hire.

    The reason is simple:

    Graduates from the MARA college (now promoted to become a "university") are all from the Malay race (you need to be a Malay before you can enroll into that college, btw) - which essentially means ... MARA takes in people who are NOT qualified to go to college any where else, and award them college degrees even if they can't do anything right.

    In such context - your "probability perspective" will never work as the whole thing is so skewed out of whack.

    I almost puke this morning when I heard over BBC's news interviewing that female reporter from Newsweek.

    She seems to be enjoying basking in her 15-second fame - and during the interview, she actually said that her action on "revealing the true identity of the founder of bitcoin" is not wrong, as it would not harm that Japanese guy in anyway.

    We all know that journalism in America sucks, and this is one heck of a prime example how sucks American journalism can be.
