Actually I haven't yet seen one single piece of conclusive raw evidence supporting global warming. Many questions by millions of people are raised concerning it, including the fact that the planet's plantlife (which is increasing) takes in CO2 and emits oxygen, which is part of the natural balancing of the ecosystem.
If you look closely at the primary groups and individuals that spread apocalyptic claims about global warming, you'll notice that they are almost entirely politicians with agendas, academic professors (professors are not scientists), etc. Very few are scientists, and the scientists that are part of it have "connections".
It reminds me of the founder (and ex-president) of Greenpeace who is now boycotting his own organization, claiming that it has been politically hijacked. Even most local-level "experts" on environmentalism have shown personally that they don't know what they're talking about. And who ends up with the big $$$? These people and organizations.
I'd suggest watching the Penn & Teller "Bullshit" episode on Environmentalism (and also PETA while you're at it hehe)
>The slam against the global warming crowd by comparing them to militant feminists is just plain silly
You seem to have read the text way too quickly; the comparison has nothing to do with feminists:
"with man-hating totalitarian ideology with which we had the bad fortune to deal during the 20th century, such as National Socialism (and) Marxism."
There are multiple meanings for the word "man" - one of those means Mankind (aka Humans). Basically the quote could also say "with human-hating totalitarian ideology..."
one thing to add- It's also important to remember that many internet users don't even know what SSL is, and if the site or email says that it is "secure", that's basically all they need to know in order to trust it.
Newer phishing scams try to obtain most of their site content from legitimate SSL-enabled sites (like Paypal), display the "real" paypal address in the user's address bar, but have the actual submission form and submission scripts on their own server. So when you visit the site, you will establish a legitimate SSL connection to Paypal, except for the forms. In this type of situation you need to block all non-SSL content.
I've been working on some material to counter-attack email phishers directly at their puny (hopefully) servers. Does anyone know of any new software projects that help feed tons of false information into the phishers' web forms (to their database)? As a Linux mail server admin, I've been getting royally pissed with the amount of email scams that have gotten through my 5-stage spam filter (even though most are stopped; I want *zero* to get through; I might add some detection for this stuff). My guess (correct me if i'm wrong) is that if people like us can dilute the phishing databases (similar to the idea of web honeypots to screw up email bots), hopefully the attackers can become somewhat crippled. Or just post an address like this one on Slashdot;) (that's one lame phisher's email submission address - looks like it's on a private machine in hong kong) - never underestimate the Slashdot effect; you'll be sorry.
So the bottom line is that there has to be something that us admins/whitehats/slackers/geeks etc can do -:-/
Considering Theresa Heinz Kerry paid around 12.5% on millions of dollars of income (which I'm guessing also applied to the larger majority of her billions), and that her and Kerry own 5 houses, most of which are large mansions, it seems perfectly logical that the rich would progress a lot further under Kerry; simply because Kerry was a rich moron who got around most of his taxes (and wants to raise them on everyone else, but him).
Bush's tax cuts were across the board; everybody got cuts. Stop whining if the rich also get a small cut off of their 60-80% income tax burden.
A long time ago, Frank Capra was forced to pay around 90% of his income in taxes. He got out of that career fast.
I'll just assume you're a spammer, due to your incredibly positive attitude. I guess all victims of spam are pathetic excuses for humans, according to you?;)
All of the pro-Kerry spam emails that got through my 4-stage junk mail filter on my mail server have made me even more angry towards Kerry (and not only that, but also the immense amount of tricks played on senior citizens by Democrats to vote "accidentally" for Kerry, and also moving Bush's name out of the way on other ballots so that regular people "accidentally" vote for Kerry)You can probably guess who I'm voting for;) If Kerry wins, this will be a hilarious 4 years haha.
>have never learned any critcal thinking skills or developed any form of skepticism
Well I'm a Christian, and consider the following criticism document I wrote and determine if I've ever developed critical thinking skills or skepticism (I've self-analyzed my own faith plenty of times) - This will show the arguments from the other side. Also to assert that the number of creationists is growing in an unprecedented way shows that you need to do some research on the population (and the founding fathers') belief patterns over the past 200 years; otherwise I'll just conclude that you're using history revisionist thinking, and morphing history into what you "want" it to be.
--- Problems and Inconsistencies with Evolution http://ministries.tliquest.net/theology
By Ryan Thoryk, philosophical analyst
9/9/04 version
This document is an updated version of my arguments against the theory of evolution, written in a direct and concise manner. These points are made to be analyzed and discussed. This is not a sermon on Christianity, and is not intended to be a point-by-point basis for showing that Christianity is true; but is designed to reveal serious flaws in evolutionary and atheistic worldview perspectives and reasoning, and to show the areas in which they lack critical information. Since society generally accepts evolutionary theory as fact, instead of theory (what it actually is), I try to reaffirm the point that it is just a theory. This paper tries to encompass the entire worldview perspective, instead on focusing on just natural selection for example. The evolutionist/atheist (also called secular humanist) worldview would be comprised of:
-Atheism as the theology standpoint (declaration that there is no God)
-A naturalist philosophical standpoint (that everything that exists is only natural and can be analyzed by the senses)
-A completely relative ethics standpoint (the view that ethics are entirely based on interpretation and that there is no true ethical belief or fact)
-Darwinian evolutionist biology (for the explanation of how living beings developed over time)
-Monistic self-actualization psychology (belief that just the persons body exists, and that material and physical needs are the only way to fulfillment, and that man is inherently good)
-World-state sociology (that society is what makes people evil; and is not their fault)
-Positive law (since man is the final word, laws are based around current world states and opinionated viewpoints)
-World government/globalist politics (single controlled structure for "peaceful" living)
-A socialist economic system (centrally controlled and distributed resource system)
-And historical evolution (the view that history evolves and gets more complex without supernatural influence).
These elements are what I try to address in this paper.
1. Evolution doesn't explain the origin of dimensions (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc). It also doesn't explain the origin of time itself. Time is a linear single-dimensional entity. Each moment for a living being is a point on the time scale, and a being cannot see or experience anything outside of the single point. The existence origination stories require time-based processes (such as the big bang theory), and do not and cannot explain how time itself came about. Something outside of time would need to exist to create it; everything related to evolution only tries to explain things within a single dimension, and only based on time.
2. The Big Bang theory (and other origination theories) doesnt explain the origination of the origination. For example, what brought the large matter in the Big Bang theory into existence? Also, what made the circumstance that brought the matter into existence? Something cannot exist without a predecessor, if it is on a linear time scale.
3. Certain measurements, such as carbon dating and now the speed of light are inaccurate.
It's also important to point out the hardware that the MIPS port ran on. The MIPS port didn't run on any of the SGI machines (I could be wrong though), since there was absolutely no hardware support for them (and endianness was also an issue). In fact, they ran on primarily NEC and Siemens machines. On SGI/MIPS, IRIX is the only operating system that has full hardware support, since it's made by the hardware vendor.
I ran NT4 on a 433mhz Alpha 21164 box a while ago, and it ran fairly well. I also tried out the DEC's FX!32 software which lets x86 Win32 binaries to run first in an emulated mode, and then eventually natively in 64-bit Alpha code (this was due to the software's optimization feature which converted the executables over to native Alpha code). For a good test I ran Winamp before and after the optimization. The emulated mode was pretty bad, but the optimized mode ran perfect. The main problem was driver support - hardware needed NT4 Alpha-based hardware drivers, which are almost non-existent. This area is where Linux benefits greatly.
NT versions 3.1, 3.5, 3.51, and 4.0 all had MIPS R4x00, Alpha, x86 (PPro optimized in 4.0), and PowerPC support (for the IBM RS-6000 series). MIPS and PPC support were dropped sometime around NT4 SP2, but the ports continued to be used in the NT Embedded (now XP Embedded) codebase. Alpha support existed through the Windows 2000 release candidates, but was dropped for the final release of Win2k (Windows 2000 was developed greatly on Alpha machines, mainly to provide a 64-bit testing environment for the upcoming Itanium platform).
"If linux can figure out a way to be built with NO Kernel Recompiling EVER, and have the kernel update as easy as swapping out 1 file, then linux will dominate the market for good."
It depends on what area you're talking about.
As for kernel upgrades, distributions provide kernel binaries that you can install; you can also get kernel binaries from third parties, including my own very large, fully-featured modular kernels available here. (I need to upload my current versions - these are pretty outdated lol)
As for upgrading kernels without reboots (well probably some shutting down of most services), you could go the microkernel route; there are projects that are implementing a microkernel that runs on top of the Linux kernel, similar to how MacOS X is implemented (the Mach microkernel with the BSD/Darwin kernel running below it). This way (correct me if I'm wrong; I'm no expert in Microkernel architectures) the Linux kernel itself would be running as a user process, divided into subsystems; each subsystem could be upgraded on the fly, mostly without interruption.
So in this design, the microkernel would be the only item running at the true kernel level, while Linux and everything else would be running as user processes. The security and scalability of this is much greater than a traditional monolithic kernel (some other monolitic kernels include xBSD, Solaris, NT, IRIX, etc), but there's around a 20% performance decrease due to the message passing between subsystem processes. This is what the debate between Tannenbaum and Linus was about back in the early 90's.
I'd like to know which moron modded my post flamebait. There's lots of sources for this information about Kerry's relationship with the North Vietnamese, and also video and audio clips of him complimenting them. So, if you think this stuff is flamebait, then you're denying history. Don't you just love history revisionists? lol
"Working to prevent your friends from dying for nothing is not treason, it is the definition of patriotism."
That's not what Kerry was doing. He was *supporting* the North Vietnamese, providing them with information against the US and the South, which theoretically caused more deaths of US soldiers. If he really wanted to prevent his friends from dying, he would simply protest the war. But to sleep with the enemy?
Would you support the Nazis to "prevent" your friends from dying? Maybe even make your friends Nazis to prevent the regime from attacking them.
Kerry helped people die, and also helped the US lose Vietnam.
"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line." President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998
"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program." President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998.
"Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face." Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998.
"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process." Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998.
"There is no doubt that... Saddam Hussein has reinvigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies." Letter to President Bush, Signed by Joe Lieberman (D-CT), John McCain (Rino-AZ) and others, Dec. 5, 2001
"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandated of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them." Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002.
"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country." Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002.
"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power." Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002.
I would like to ask Kerry if he remembers talking about the vitality of finding WMDs in Iraq and that an invasion is important. Here's a small clip from a CNN article on the topic, and I've seen multiple videos of him in 2001 expressing his support for the Iraq war. Now even though I'm not really 100% for the war in Iraq, I see it as ironic that he supported it until around 2003 or so.
"The video included comments Kerry made in late 2001 during an interview with CNN that the United States should "keep the pressure on terrorism globally" and "it is absolutely vital that we continue, for instance on Saddam Hussein." He told CBS that "Saddam Hussein has used weapons of mass destruction against his own people and there is some evidence of [Iraq's] efforts to try to secure these kinds of weapons and even test them."
In October 2002, Kerry and his running mate, John Edwards, were among the 77 senators who voted for the resolution authorizing war in Iraq.
In his campaign launch speech 11 months later in Charleston, South Carolina, Kerry characterized the vote as one meant "to threaten the use of force to make Saddam Hussein comply with the resolutions of the United Nations," according to the video.
"Are you one of the antiwar candidates?" Kerry was asked on MSNBC in January of this year.
Also remember that previous statements and videos of Kerry show that *Kerry* said that there were WMDs in Iraq and that he supported a US invasion. He also pushed Clinton on the issue. I should look for a video copy of that on the web (saw it on TV last night).
"By contrast, Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) has introduced a bill, H.R.487, to repeal the Military Selective Service Act, permanently ending the draft. Cosponsors include two other Republicans and five Democrats."
I've always been a huge fan of Ron Paul, and if he was running for President, I'd be with him 100%.
My political philosophies are almost identical to those of Alan Keyes.
To view the details of the Texas Republican Party platform that he supports, view it here:
RPT Platform 2004
And John Kerry made friends with the North Vietnamese during the war, passed information onto them, and reported fake "atrocities" by the US. If Kerry was in WWII and buddied up with the Nazis, how would you feel?
Well the UN has been wanting to "regulate" the internet in certain ways, but the UN scares me.
Considering Bush's opposition to UN authority for many of the past issues during his term, I highly doubt he would be in favor of a UN-regulated Internet. I can't say the same about federal regulation. Kerry shows strong support of UN sponsored issues, and I would guess that he'd give up a certain amount of control to the UN, which would pave the way to UN regulation of the Internet.
As for national regulation, I'm extremely against that, but there is a lot of pushing for that. Due to the similarity of administrations in the past (looking at Bush Sr, Clinton and Kerry's major push for an invation of Iraq, and Bush Jr) there shouldn't be much difference in Kerry's policies than Bush's on regulation.
But don't forget that a gay couple was the primary force in undoing the SF ruling legalizing gay marriage, in order for them to divorce. There are also statistics that show that the average active homosexual has around 100 partners a year; which if they have more than 1 partner in their life, then the idea of marriage for them is pointless. Many gays have literally said that their primary reason for changing traditional marriage is simply to demean it; and that they don't really care about marriage for themselves.
I must have not been thinking correctly again when I wrote that. They *are* using a One Time Pad encryption method (shows how much of a genius I am at encryption methods lol). I wonder what type of key they use against it... all you need is the key, and the encryption's screwed. Hopefully all their devices don't have the same key, or that they key is "password" or something.
-Keep your data safe. Lexar's JumpDrive Secure offers both the durability of the JumpDrive Sport with an important plus: security. The pre-loaded security software means that your information will be subject to DMCA^H^H^H^H password-protected XOR superencryption. Lost or stolen, your data is safe. Unless they know what XOR encryption is, which they probably won't. So don't worry, it's unlikely. Trust us. They aren't as smart as we are.
The Lexar(R) XOR Security System(TM). Patent Pending.
This JumpDrive Secure product clearly shows how much they know about security. They claim it uses 256-bit AES encryption, but it uses XOR along with a DEcrypting authentication mechanism?! wtf? This "security" seems to have been made at the script-kiddie level. Why not just reverse the characters to encrypt it? lol
Next they'll probably release the JumpDrive Secure II featuring their unbreakable OTP (One Time Pad) encryption system;)
Also a candidate would really have to win only in major cities, such as LA, Chicago and New York, and they'd pretty much be guaranteed a victory. Everyone else in the US would be out of luck.
One interesting thing is that highly concentrated areas almost always turn out Democrat. So, by going the majority-vote route, you pretty much know who'd win.
The majority rule idea would make an enormous amount of people furious after it was implemented; since then they'd be able to see how it exactly works.
With that type of a system the rich and famous always win, and the average American *always* loses.

I would like to ask Kerry if he remembers talking about the vitality of finding WMDs in Iraq and that an invasion is important. Here's a small clip from a CNN article on the topic, and I've seen multiple videos of him in 2001 expressing his support for the Iraq war. Now even though I'm not really 100% for the war in Iraq, I see it as ironic that he supported it until around 2003 or so.
from here
"The video included comments Kerry made in late 2001 during an interview with CNN that the United States should "keep the pressure on terrorism globally" and "it is absolutely vital that we continue, for instance on Saddam Hussein." He told CBS that "Saddam Hussein has used weapons of mass destruction against his own people and there is some evidence of [Iraq's] efforts to try to secure these kinds of weapons and even test them."
"I am, yeah," Kerry answered."

To view the details of the Texas Republican Party platform that he supports, view it here: RPT Platform 2004

And John Kerry made friends with the North Vietnamese during the war, passed information onto them, and reported fake "atrocities" by the US. If Kerry was in WWII and buddied up with the Nazis, how would you feel?
It's called treason.

The Remarkable Lexar JumpDrive Secure
-Keep your data safe.
Lexar's JumpDrive Secure offers both the durability of the JumpDrive Sport with an important plus: security. The pre-loaded security software means that your information will be subject to DMCA^H^H^H^H password-protected XOR superencryption. Lost or stolen, your data is safe. Unless they know what XOR encryption is, which they probably won't. So don't worry, it's unlikely. Trust us. They aren't as smart as we are.
The Lexar(R) XOR Security System(TM). Patent Pending.
Lexar. We know security.
This JumpDrive Secure product clearly shows how much they know about security. They claim it uses 256-bit AES encryption, but it uses XOR along with a DEcrypting authentication mechanism?! wtf? This "security" seems to have been made at the script-kiddie level. Why not just reverse the characters to encrypt it? lol
;)
Next they'll probably release the JumpDrive Secure II featuring their unbreakable OTP (One Time Pad) encryption system
