I don't really see the point of doing something if your average slashdotter can see a way past this easily, and can figure out a way to make it do even worse things to the network.
We should be looking for spam solutions that a) don't have a huge obvious negative impact and b) even if exploited still 'help'.
I'm convinced that Bayesian filters, Reverse MX, and sender verification will pretty much kill all spam these days.
Unless PDFs become the publishing format de-jure, I don't see books being pirated the same way all-digital stuff is. In the worst case you can rip video or audio in real time. With books, you need to sit down and scan every page. With huge releases like Harry Potter, I could see it happening, but it'll never be like the situation with MP3s, where you can get *every* song ever recorded
IANAL, but my understanding is that when it comes to intellectual property, failure to defend that property is grounds for de facto loss of rights to that property.
Well, then you are an idiot. This is true in the case of trademarks, but not copyrights or patents.
Point 2: "You must license any derivitive work you make with this license, or a license that works like this license."
Point two actualy says that if you distribute your derivitive works, then you must use the GPL. You would not be able to do that at all without the GPL.
He went to aid the taliban after we started the fight with them, after 9/11, fuckhead. This guy, supposedly, went to go fight solders on the battlefield not murder civilians. There's a pretty big difference.
Could someone explain why people are comparing the Taliban to Al Queda? To my knowledge, the Taliban was a ruling party of a country that had a military as well as all other aspects of governmental control. This would make individuals who helped and served under them solders or agents (spies, commandos, ect...). The Taliban is not a Terrorist Organization. So why are people who helped them being compared and tried as terrorists?
Well, we were at war with them, so attempting to help them would be considered Treason. but the standard of evidence for that is quite high.
If he really wanted to help the Taliban stay in power, then he should be shot. But who knows, maybe he just signed this confession because he didn't want to try to risk the other charges?
... you are a very bad person. You are hereby sentenced to seven years in a federal pound me in the ass prison.
You know, it's really sick that we make jokes like this. The constitution outlaws 'cruel and unusual punishment' but the threat of being corn holed is actively used as a deterrent, and not much is done to prevent it. I think homosexual rape probably qualifies as 'cruel and unusual'
It doesn't matter if this guy was indeed guilty or whatever. If he had been guilty, then they should have charged him with a crime at the time. They didn't. They held him for months without charging him at all. This is absolutely improper.
*sigh* Think, kids. Go back to stalker school. pjack's got a journal. pjack's journal has an entry mentioning Linux saving her - yes, I said he! - marriage. Given that there aren't very many places where homosexual marriages are allowed, it would seem probably that pjack's female. And taken. Sorry, kids....
The title is "Linux saved my marriage" but in the article she only referrers to her 'boyfriend'. If they were actually married, they would have said 'husband'. Maybe their relationship feels like a marriage but they are not actually married legally, like if they were gay. pjack never indicates her sex in her journal that I found. So unless she posts to clarify, we really have no idea outside of the statistics game. She could be a woman, she could be a woman, and she might not be.
Better hope your home address isn't easy to find you'll find him dangling from the roof tied up in Cat-5 cable and a line of geeks wating to woo you.;)
That was about the most disturbing comment I've read in a while. Is it any wonder she dates a non-geek?
Ann Coulter on Howard Dean: "He's coming on strong. He could win up to 10, 15% of the vote in a national election."
What's the deal with these idiotic partisans always totally overestimating the number of people who agree with them? Clinton got more then 50% of the vote, and so did Gore. Why would dem support drop so quickly? Ho. Dean appeals to a lot of democrats.
Ah well, at least it gives an easy gauge on who is and is not a loony.
because you can fake the email's origin.
Copyright my gnupg/pgp public key and write a EULA outlining its use. Here is where I'd explicitly disallow unsolicited advertisement.
Incidentaly, this comment also has a EULA. By reading it you must send me $50,000.
You can paypal me at wsmith at autopr0n dot com. Thanks.

A lot of spammers actualy will remove you if you click the 'remove' link, since no one ever does. Or so I've heard.
A 1x1 gif image is smaller then most server's 404 error msgs.

Personaly I'd rather laugh at the hardships of people in countries which I am not in.
Innocent people do not plead guilty.
What makes you say that? Do you have any evidence for this claim? Certanly there is a lot of evidence that it's false.
Howard Dean is a socialist pig. Thank you.
Care to elaborate?
He went to aid the taliban after we started the fight with them, after 9/11, fuckhead. This guy, supposedly, went to go fight solders on the battlefield not murder civilians. There's a pretty big difference.
Someone please mod this asshole down.
The Taliban needed to die and now they are dead, what exactly are you complaining about?
(9/11, btw, did not alter my opinion about them in anyway)

He obviously hasn't been shaving or something since he's been in jail. He hasn't always looked like that.

You know there is a free baysian filter for outlook now. It works very well.
/responding to your jornal which I looked at to try to figure out if you were a chick or gay.
But their actual phone number is 1-800-726-8649, which equates to 1-800-RAM-UNIX (and 1-800-SCO-UNIX but we'll ignore that)
They've also started a hotline. 1-800-382-5633. Tell 'em what you think.
Is it a coincidence that their hotline number is 1-800-fuck-off?
