Well, they are using the DVCPRO HD codec, which requires only 100Mbps stream, 1394b is overkill.
Apple suggests that you have a 160MB(capital B)ps connection to do uncompressed (read: non DVCPRO HD) HD content, which requires a PCI-based solution, not firewire.
You're right on except for one thing: I can hit command-f and find exactly what I'm looking for with a simple search. This makes Gamefaqs the most useful resource for games ever.
Here's why: the Simpsons makes a crapload of money for Fox, no question. How many other shows do though? Fox needs to make an exorbitant amount of money from the Simpsons to make up for other financial blunders that they have put on the air. If this raise happens, the executives might not take the chance on the next Family Guy or King of the Hill. I think that this is the best reason to deny a pay raise of this caliber, as other shows won't get the green light when Fox doesn't have the money to (potentially) lose on them.
I hope that Blizzard doesn't try to "balance" the game. Back in the day, if you chose to play a wizard in an RPG, you knew the road was gonna be tough, but you'd eventually get to throw fireballs. Nowadays, people complain day and night about the lack of balance in a game. Live isn't balanced, we're not all Zen masters, deal with it.
be an Ask Slashdot? Seriously, this is a fun topic to discuss, and it's funny to me to see all of the complaining in the ask.slashdot articles of people who get something green-lighted when an effective google would've provided their answer...
That being said, I'm holding out for the space elevators from 3001. That's how I plan on getting around. In 997 years...
It still means more trash if you just want the songs, not the case, CD, liner notes, etc. (the etc means the plastic wrap and 4 adhesive labels telling you this cd has a security device enclosed in it)
It's called "Testing The Waters". If Linux is gonna be a worthwhile platform for Macromedia to adopt, they need to do a little recon first. If Flash gets picked up on Linux under Wine, you can bet the next rewrite will be offered natively on Linux.
Personally, I'm rooting for a Fireworks MX via Wine to hit the market, cuz Macromedia could corner the for-pay Linux market there before Adobe ever thinks of porting Photoshop.
Why doesn't Evolution support importing mailboxes? That seems really weird, not to mention the first feature that will leave an impression on the end-user. If I'm using an email client, and it does a sloppy/nonexistent job of importing my old mail, I'll just stick to whatever I'm using, amazing features or not.
I'm not cool with micropayments until the credit infrastructure sees some serious revision. With all of the transactions that are going to be happening "real soon now" with micropayments, there's bound to be a huge opportunity for massive fraud on a microscopic level. As it stands now, Visa seems more concerned handling fraud cases as they happen, rather than taking more initiative in stopping them at the root level.
Track and Field was a great game. Don't blame sports for the state of arcades. Look at all of the cool sports-themed games in Japanese arcades. They have innovative controllers for penatly-kick soccer, fishing games, etc.
ANY genre can have creative ways of doing stuff that make games fun.

Maybe the spent too much time on their April fools logo...

Whack-a-mole? Weight lifting is a sport so that's almost a game.
You're right, it is only useful to ~90% of web users...
I think that you would have to base it off of Worms.

"Extended warranty? How can I lose?"
That's the first thing I thought of when I read the 17 year-old's quote of the Dell.

So you can patent it, of course.
Why would Europeans be concerned with US patents?

I'd say that you don't do anything worthwhile with that computer, then...but hey, that's just me.
MSN Search for "google"
Good for them.

Actually, they're the same guy.
Cuz, there can be only one...
I found this explanation. Don't know if it's true or not. It's been Netscape's code name for a long time.

Let me be among the first to with you well, in whatever endeavor you undertake in this chapter of your life.
Hail! King of the Monsters!
ps. don't attack my city

Which will be a higher cost: the case itself, or the bandwidth necessary to withstand the slashdotting?
Have you looked into cinepaint?
Well, us Americans do enjoy smashing stuff...probably the most popular game I can think of in America is whack-a-mole (which can be pretty fun).
