I used to work for RPS before they were bought out by Fedex. If you think that is bad, you should see what they do to monitors. Put them on top of the stack, then grab them and pull. the result, they bounce three or four times before they hit the belt, then they bounce down the conveyor to a shute, after tumbling down the 10-20 foot shute they move to the trucks.
In a related story I had a 21" Sun monitor shipped via Fedex(not my choice), they pulled it out, put it on the ground then they ROLLED it end over end to my door. luckily it didn't damage anyhting, but the horror of seeing an item that expensive being rolled.....
