True, but even with just five-word stances on the various "issues" I don't have any problem looking at the candidate that's closest to my beliefs (apparently), and say "I don't quite agree with that" I don't want a candidate who believes exactly what I do, (or I'd just try to run myself), I want one who tells me why he believes X and Y. I want one who can demonstrate intelligence and negotiating skill.
How much actual influence will the internet actually have on the election? Is there more to this than everyone saying that "this is the first presidential election in which the Internet is a major factor"? Since the candidate web sites are little more than straightforward presentations of their campaign slogans, how is the 'net going to make the election any different that what it would be if the public had to rely only on the traditional news media? Will the anti-candidateX sites have any real effect, or will they simply be seen as more of the business-as-usual mudslinging that defines American election campaigns?
Bah! Everyone knows that Edmonton is the SV of Canada! Oh, and the previous poster's comment that high-tech is Alberta's strongest industry is delusional. Sure we've got what seems like a lot of tech companies, but lets be honest, the reason Canada's trying to get out of the Kyoto accord is that turning off all the oil industry in Alberta will bankrupt us (and maybe the rest of the country too).
Now, remember. She didn't _lose_ the whole billion or so. They actually know where most of it was wasted. It's only about 16,000 or something like that they completely lost track of.
Ah HA Ha Ha Ha Reform's going to win... yeeahhh, oookaaay... Let's see, which of Squeaky Manning, Christian Coalition Day, and Mulrooney Long are going to pull this off exactly? I mean, yeah they'll sweep the west again (which is kinda sad imho), but really, what's going to enable them to get past Manitoba? This CA thing doesn't matter, its not like they've changed members or policy. (I remember the day of the change... "Reform is dead! Long live Reform!") Of course, Long might get some breakthrough into the east, but I think it'd be made up by losses in the west since people don't really want to vote for the guy who was (and is) so close to Mulrooney. I don't know about 10 years, but with Reform as the only other real option, I don't see them going anywhere at the next election. (Especially if Jean would just let go of the leadership already.)
Hmm. I always thought it was so they could keep their tankers running about when they amount to rust & string & several million barrels of crude... The Americans have actual safety regs for ships that want American registration I believe...
Well I know that Canadian cans aren't made of steel. If nothing else, they'd get rusty when they're left exposed to the elements in the back of my truck for a couple three months...
Screw 26, I want a 30 hour day. We need to hurry up and get colonizing lots of planets so we can all choose a planet that's has a day length we'd enjoy.
Scanner hell. I get at least three different cell phones on my walkie-talkie type radio at work. Actually kind of annoys me to have to listen to it, as it makes listening for transmissions I need to hear harder. Don't suppose the people who own the phone's would be pleased to know I'm listening though.
Nonsense. Just find someone who's never used Windows. ('course, that may require finding someone who's never used a comp at all, which probably wouldn't be advisable)
It showed up here in Edmonton at the Princess. (A single screen place that likes the art movies) Actually, I think its still playing. Maybe I'll go burn a few bucks before work tommorrow...
Well, that one I'm not sure of, but I know they changed the scene involving shooting up some Stormtroopers in the comm(control?) room so that you no longer see the actual weapon impacts on their armour.
The GAP ads weren't the first to do their version of the effect either. Several months before the GAP ads, there was some rock vid (can't remember who, involved an ice cave) Anyhow, the observant amongst us realized that what the Matrix was doing had to be at least somewhat different because there was movement during the rotations. The GAP ads (and the rock vid) froze, rotated, resumed.
Again I ask for a similar site that acknowledges the existance of Canada. (It's not like we're hard to miss, we've got a much larger land mass up here)
Hmm. Last articles I saw (in the last month) said that it was looking like it could be real. ('nother words, their attempt to debunk it didn't succeed.)

Probably. But don't be giving people ideas...
Then quit playing. God, if you don't like a topic, why even open it, let alone read & respond?

Ah, I see. Your saying FC was inspired by the book. That I can follow. I misunderstood your original post.
If Microsoft chooses to give software away they are crushing other companies, but if others give software away thats OK?
Someone doesn't understand the term intent do they? How about motive?
Who else has a big enough stick to swing at the biggest-softball-in-existence (now 2nd I suppose) that is Microsoft?
How can Fight Club (>6 months old now) be inspired by a movie that's not going to be around for >3 months, might I ask?

I'd mention my desire for an equivalent site with Canadian content, but I'm probably becoming annoying by now...
Now I'll ask for a third time for a site that realizes that Canadians want to know these things too.
Again I ask for a similar site that acknowledges the existance of Canada. (It's not like we're hard to miss, we've got a much larger land mass up here)
Any similar site that cares to provide info for Canadian cities?
If neither chewing nor swallowing are neccessary, I don't think it qualifies as food...
