I don't understand the problem. If you can read Slashdot then you should be smart enough to set up a Linux box at home, run socks5 on it and use that as your own anonymizer... When work started closing ports I just started running those services at home on ports 80, and 21 the two ports still open to me. It was easy to set up and it gets the job done, and I learned a few new things.
