  1. C'mon on Upgrade Mac Cube to G5 Look · · Score: 1

It's ugly as sin!! Can you not realize that? It looks like an "If they Mated" segment on Conan O'Brien.

  2. Ester and Gordon out of business on Wal-Mart Music Download Service Launches · · Score: 1

I am apalled that WalMart will be putting more mom and pop businesses owners out on the streets. If one more digital music store run by lovable country bumpkins goes out of business, I'm going to snap.

  3. Re:so I have to pay? on Apple Reveals Mac OS X 10.2, 17" iMac, Windows iPod · · Score: 1

You are practically paying for a new OS, that's why? Just LOOK at some of the features that are being added. Did you even read any of the keynote???

  4. Re:She's breaking up captain. on Apple to Unveil .Mac Today · · Score: 1

Why did you just copy the notice for your post? And what moderator gave this person a "3" just for plagarizing mac.com's FAQ page? This is truly a sad day in slashdot history.

  5. Re:Why show Mac users as lamers? on PC Users Switch to Apple · · Score: 1

Show people that real work can be done on Macs.

People don't really want to know that "real work" can be done on macs when they look at ads. They want to know about the reasons that people use them.

Apple was smart not to create an advertisement blubbering on and on about AltiVec and how nifty the G4 is. Most people do not want to know this. The ad shows how macs fit the needs of real people.

  6. obsolete... on 10-Gigabit Ethernet Standard Approved · · Score: 1

I would hardly call gigabit ethernet obsolete. Most home networks and many small business LAN's still use old reliable...

    12 mb/s twisted pair.

It still meets all gaming and small office needs.

  7. -1, Troll on CmdrTaco Speaking at MacHack in June · · Score: 1
"I'm Speaking at MacHack...I'm sure there will be time for Q&A about Slashdot stuff."

    hmmmm......

  8. FSB on Apple Updates iBook · · Score: 1

Granted, the CPU is a G3, but apple can do better than a 100 Mhz FSB.

  9. new imac on Fluorescent Lights Magically Activates iMac? · · Score: 1

I could see a new imac waking up when its desk-lampian cousin was turned on, but an imac DV is out of the question!

You ARE above the Antarctic circle. It is in the south. The only way you could be "below" the Antarctic circle would be if you were in or around Antarctica, which is in the SOUTH!!!

Messing with OS X kernel code, eh? Ladies and Gentlemen, the iHack has landed.

  12. wow on OS X Kernel Overview · · Score: 1

Holy crap. Is this supposed to be Apple's way of keeping down rookie programmers? Could Apple be brainwashing young programmers to join their cause???

I thought I was the only one that thought fixing a car was as painful as using a mac!!

  14. Amount of RAM on A Newbie's Guide To A Lo-Fat Linux Desktop · · Score: 1

I would reccommend at least 128 MB RAM for new users of linux. It is dirt-cheap right now, and it will make the system run better.

  15. Diversification on Coffee-Powered Batteries · · Score: 1

I think that it's just great that sony is making coffee-powered batteries. Maybe overpriced coffee houses will start selling batteries...

  16. Mozilla 0.9.7 on Mozilla 0.9.7 Released! · · Score: 1

The best web browser yet is finally out. The latest version of Mozilla is excellent. Being able to disable popup windows and leave javascript enabled is the best new feature of a slew of new features. Gone are the days of the popup x10 cam ad!

  17. cool on A Newbie's Guide To A Lo-Fat Linux Desktop · · Score: 1

Thank you for writing "Building a lo-fat Linux Box." I had been considering making a linux system but was afraid of the cost. When I read the artice and the subsequent replies, I discovered that the lo-fat, low-cost linux box was for me.
