  3. Another Route on System Administrators - College or Career? · · Score: 1

I was in the same situation when I graduated high school four years ago but I joined the military. I am a small computer system specialist in the US Marine Corps and it has really helped determine what I want to do in life. The military will give you the chance to design network layouts, administer remote sites in different countries(I am writing this from a camp in Korea). More than anything it has helped me mature and gave me a good sence of what its like to be self dependant. If you want to use all the latest equipment join the Air Force, they take good care of you. If you want to be pushed around and make wire testers out of a flashlight at two am in the Australian forrests join the Marine Corps. Its something to look into, it changed me forever.

  4. Entrance/Exit Point on Do Strangelets Pass Through Earth? · · Score: 1

Wouldn't a particle moving that fast with that much momentum leave some sort of exit point that could still be seen. Also,"The small size of strangelets means the blast is only big enough to have a very localised effect and humans are unlikely to be harmed." What happens when one of these goes through LA or New york, wouldn't there be quite a few people harmed?

  5. Bad Idea... on Giant Black Hole Found · · Score: 1

Scientists should not be allowed to study any more black holes. Think about it, they study it, they think they can explain it...
There was an article posted two months ago about a group of scientists getting together and making plans to build a super particle accelerator. It was said to be strong enough to create mini black holes. Now that they think they know what a black hole is they are going to make one on earth. Does that just not sound like a bad idea to anyone else? Scientists are going to kill us all.
