    i don't know why geeks rally behind apple at every turn, they seem to be like any other large software coporation out there, in it for the benjamins, and nothing else.

    First of all it's mentioned in the chapter "99.9% of websites are obsolete (which was previously an essay) that in the future sites will either be built with flash or web standars. using flash for site design (not just small elements, or segments) is typically a bad idea because: 1. flash is not viewable by spiders/robots that popular search engines use. therefore your content isn't ranked highly. 2. flash content is not viewable on most mobile platforms (cell phones/pdas/ etc.) 3. flash content is largly unavaiable to the disabled public (people that use screen readers etc)

    Interesting that you mention this, because i was thinking the same thing. Seems as though public image isn't worth much to Microsoft (albeit this story isn't on the eleven o'clock news).

    I work at a chain of bookstores that is in similar standing with Barnes and Noble, and we'll do just about anything for the image of the company, even if that means taking a loss on some transactions to give customers a good impression of the company (in turn keeping them loyal to us)

    if you just send them (the spammers) a msg that says something to the effect:
    thank you for your mail, to continue sending me mail there will be a 500 dollar per item charge. your welcome to do so, although i will need your billing address and credit card number. if these are not provided to me, you will be taken to court so i may recover damages. thanks for your time.
