Seeing how spherical, aspherical and cylindrical lense arrays have been around for a very long time, I would vote for apple. Think light houses, Ben Franklin and the like.
So, Whos "BEF" (brighness Enhancing Film) have these LCD manufacturing been buying? Who is really at fault? The defendants? The LCD manufactures? 3M for manufacturing BEF II? Mr. Fresnel?
The practical application of light has been around for a very long time. Look at the fluorescent lights above your head (if your at work), What kind of lenselets or diffuser is being used? Look at the tail lights on cars, the red plastic is internally (or sometimes externally) covered with bumps(lenses) to redirect the light. This is very old technology for light guiding.
That's Funny. My SO just brought her new ibook to my house and in a few short moments i had it setup to do dialup when at her house, share my ADSL when at my house and it already had airport for her work (a middle school). A director where I work just said a few weeks ago: "linux is good if you like to tinker with your PC." at the time I declined to tell him that its even better if your tired of always having to tinker with your PC. (you know, firewall, av, popup blockers, auto-installed pr0n sites......)
Not really, I Install linux, Install nVidia 3D driver, and surf the net or play 3D games. It is that simple
I never have to update AV definitions, ad-aware, windows, nothing. The only tweaks i need are already provided when I restore my home directory which sets my background, window decorations, icon sets, email settings and messages, everything as if nothing ever changed. very simple, very quick. Sure, I change my background from tme to time. I think most people do. I never have to "keep my guard up", that was done during the 35 minute install of the OS.
The guy asked a serious question: What are we doing protect our computers? We put linux on our computers. There is nothing hypocritical about it. Last time i installed windows for someone, I had to install more drivers after the fact than needed on a linux install.... no thanks, I like the easy route.
BillG will keep you believing that Linux isn't ready, Linux is difficult....Bull.

antimatter costs absolutly nothing, The cost we would be paying is for the military contractors. If you could milk the tax payers for 40 years over a project where you never have to prove that you actually did anything, you just buy corporate jets, meet the president, send your son to yale and sit on your yatch, would you do it? If you said "I have antimatter in this vessel.", who would call your bluff?
A little too late but thanks. I was eating dried banana chips. In hind sight, I'm trying to figure why exactly I thought it was a good idea to check out the link.
A method for inducing cats to exercise consists of directing a beam of invisible light produced by a hand-held laser apparatus onto the floor or wall or other opaque surface in the vicinity of the cat, then moving the laser so as to cause the bright pattern of light to move in an irregular way fascinating to cats, and to any other animal with a chase instinct.
I don't think a beam of invisible light will be effective, nor is a laser "invisible".
I (and everyone else) has had our cats and dogs chasing light for well over twenty years. Anyone remember flashlights???...the reflection of your watch from the sun???? My cats have chased all of the prior art already. My moms cats chased all the prior art 20 years ago.
Well, I predict that competition itself will be dead 10 years from now. Mac and linux will co-exsist in a peaceful rainbow filled future.
PS. I also predict that Mac OS X will be dead 10 years from now, but before you get your aqua colored panties in a bunch, Mac OS XV will be going strong.
Besides, google news beta is part of googles profit motive. Google News Beta is an advertisment in itself to have you return to the google brand on a daily basis, sign up for an email account, use adwords for your own business. That means it is no longer fair use. Google must cease and desist. Stop trying to hide behind a phony "beta". mod me down for i speak from my arse.:)

Sadly, windows users don't even know what that means but the moment you learn, your life is changed. :)

Maybe we could start an antimatter project on sourceforge? We could call it Doesn'tMatter.

Yeah!, just because I busted into your windows box and downloaded all your pr0n and MP3s doesn't mean I'm an evil hack... oh, never mind.
The ":)" symbol clearly denotes that portion of my comment as a humor.
Good image, but does Jonathan fit into the picture?
But I just added that slang entry for laid a week ago due to some other slashdot post.
