Kind of amusing that the article mentions the "new" messaging spam system being development by the Romanian programmers. The spam king seems so pleased about it but I don't why. You can easily prevent this kind of spam just by disabling windows messaging. Just disable messaging in your windows services. I don't see what the big deal is.
I think a more accurate test would be to get those without calculators to do the calculations by hand, ie. count out on fingers etc. what 2x2 is.
The human brain works by pattern recognition; a completely differnt method than that of a calculator.
Actualy BMW does make the new Mini. Check out this early Edmunds review for information. They state "BMW (is the) (owner of the Mini brand and producer of the 2002 Cooper)"
It sounds like a good idea, but only to protect sensitive data.
I doubt that the average laptop stealing thug cares if they can read someone's e-mail. As long as the OS and applications still work who cares if the data is encrypted. The thief will still be able to steal and sell a working laptop.
I think that the key idea here is that the course is an introduction to programming not a C# course.
U of W would not be teaching a course on C# but rather a course using C#.
I don't see any differnce from using a language such as Scheme (other than being functional vs. OO etc).
It doesn't matter what language you learn in, as long as you are learning the fundamentals.
Toyota is currently working on a Fuel Cell-Electric Hybrid (FCHV) SUV.
It is based on the Highlander and will be similar to the Prius. The main difference being that it will use a fuel cell along with the electric motor instead of a traditional combustion enigine.
