No, no no. He proposed a "$0" starting point from which to build a new budget, instead of the usual use of last budget's baseline as a starting point and then deciding how much to add to each program.
And what magical ability do you have to climb into the Governeror's head and see what his motives are?
I don't know what he did, but our ISP back then had a special client that you'd dial into the BBS with and it would let you play multiplayer Doom over a dialup with I think up to 3 other players.
And you can't be thinking of Gamespy, it didn't exist then.
So if someone had one of these malicious sound files, would the extra long ID info appear in the window of Winamp or Media Player when the file is played?
Yes indeed. The name of "Alfred E. Neuman" never got so much as a batted eyelash from any cashier I ever encountered at Radio Shack. If they asked if I wanted an extended warranty, I said, "What, me worry?".
Well... since 200 GB of storage doesn't cost that much these days, why not keep all the mp3's you want, as well as mpgs and avi's and keep the whole thing backed up, one on a Windows partition and the other on a Linux partition, so that no one RIAA-spread virus is likely to wipe out both of them at once?
...to rapidly dissapate heat by sending an electrical charge through a carrier that is gradually tapering into different alloys of metal? It cools one end while increasing heat in the other. Does anyone know wtf I'm trying to think of?
Why not build the system and when you have it just right, spray hot parafin wax to coat the mobo and cards? That leaves the cpu, which I would think should be protected by it's heatsink, and memory which is fairly cheap to replace if it goes bad. Or use slower memory that might not get hot enough to melt off the wax?
I wonder if the wax would insulate things enough to cause enough heat to melt itself off, or damage the components? It might be conductive too, I don't farkin know.
As for protecting the drives, use cheap ones that won't hurt too much to replace?
Priority Mail is a moneymaker for USPS. They even give away the boxes for free because of this, although it's name is kind of misleading since there is no guarantee of any certain delivery date. I wouldn't disagree with anything else u said.
I'm a rural mail carrier in Texas. We don't get snow, we get 2 inch thick sheets of glass-smooth ice about every other year, so it's always a kind of new experience. That's way slicker than snow, for you public school graduates.
After a day of delivering mail to BFE with that going on, when I go to bed I can still feel my rear end sliding to and fro, inches from a five foot ditch, from which I will walk miles to the nearest phone to call for help if I fall in, which will not come because no other fools are going to get out in that kind of weather.
I didn't make any of that up.
That's probably true, but it would require an amendment to the Constitution, which as is guarantees a postal service provided by the government.
In addition, whatever private company decided to take this baton would have to deliver universal service (not a very lucrative prospect; witness fiber optics or even cable), and lastly, without the "no profit" rule which the USPS lives by, I don't see how a private company would be able to make a profit while keeping their prices comparable.
If FedEx or UPS decided to just start delivering 1st class mail and make a national case of it, they would win. The fact is that there's no way they could deliver a letter from Dallas to Sacremento for 37 cents, and not lose a ton of money.

...this Congress bans taxing Internet sales? That is on the agenda this session.
You can still buy drives for the Apple II on ebay ;)

It is an evil little man that lives under a bridge. I suppose he has a wireless net connection for his laptop.
The moon mesed up Leonids for us this year. If someone would have turned that damned thing off, you would have likely seen a few per second.

How can you respect anyone who doesn't get that?
I'd still hit Howie's babe.

It was published in the late 70's d00d. It's in my bathroom right now ;)
Slashdot dupe nazi's be damned. Check out that whole site, there's a lot of quality humor in there. I laughed out loud several times.
If the US were cut off from the rest of the world's networks, where would we go for quality warez and pr0n?
If there's money to be made, you can bet that the Feds and Disney will be in cahoots to control it's every aspect.
I've always wanted to run game servers. What would you say is a minimum upstream for say a 16 player Quake3 server?

That is a stock response by any liberal to any conservative who invokes cato or limbaugh. So where do all of you get that standardized reaction?

The USPS's lifeblood is unsolicited commercial advertising mail. I'm sure you should reconsider your position.
Them ol' boys, they jest ran out o bullits, or theyd a done an kicked them damn yankees in their blamed nuts.
Nah, we'd just swipe a free Eudora mailbox.
I dunno, the South does control space...
