  1. pr0n? on Speaking Out Against Australian Internet Censorship · · Score: 1

What is wrong with porn? What is wrong with R rated movies? I never understood this.. I do come from more liberal part of Europe so I might have different opinion when it comes to this.. But I watched what you would call "inappropriate" material my whole childhood and in no way did it effect my personality in any "bad" way.. Look at the statistics on crime and teen pregancies in Europe and you will find that countries with most liberal laws have least of those (especially when compared to the US where censorship on regular TV is high).. The whole point is, restricting anything from anyone won't do any good... EDUCATION WILL.. Good education, and easy access to information is what matters.. Restricting what you can see or think can only lead to problems...

  2. New YR on New Years Marathons · · Score: 1

I Will NEVER get to see any of those marathons ;o(( I am in New Orleans so I am forced to be out and look at boobs on Bourbon St.. BUT if I lived in say Minessota I would probably forget about TV and play Age of Empires online with other fellow nerds... Hmm thinking about it I need to move out so I can feel good about playing games on New Yr eve...

  3. HDTV and DVD on To HDTV or Not to HDTV? · · Score: 1

I was reading about HDTV and DVD's and I found out that: "Regular DVDs are almost all 480i, but some "progressive DVDs" exist at 480p. (They talk about 720p DVDs but that's in the future)" (found at http://www.nwlink.com/~rxg/hdtv.html) What is a progressive DVD? Is that same as any other DVD but played on a player thats capable of playing it progressively? So basically any DVD movie can be progressive as long as you have the right player? And oh anybody heard anything about 720p DVD's? Will they be "burned" on same DVD media format? Will they require different DVD players? Will they be bigger in size (resulting in a new DVD media disc format) since I imagine with increased resolution movies would need more space on a DVD disc? Thanks for all of your comments ;o)
