Guys has anyone actually given any thought to the amount of work these people are putting into this project? All you can manage to do is rip M$ apart when in reality the IE7 guys are trying to do something about their browser. IE6 got released in what 01? and then afterwards DISBANDED the team. This means that everything that came out in the interviening time didn't even have someone to consider added it to IE. Yes there are other more standards compliant browsers out there, but they all had a constant stream of development whereas IE sat and got stale. Now the IE team is back together and trying its damnedest to get it back up to spec. They have done some unprecedented things with releasing the betas to the public and are doing this to get real CONSTRUCTIVE feedback to improve how the browser operates with the standards. Honestly a lot of you are saying a whole lot of things that really arn't fair to this team and certainly not to Mr. Wilson. You want particular things fixed be polite, be specific, maybe even offer possible solutions. Do not be a jerk to these people they are working hard just as you are and they get to read on these sites the pretty rough things about their company who while not always been the nice guy or been on the up and up has also done a lot of good things. And just remember IE7 is still in beta, betas are buggy, expect it to be so. If it didn't have bugs then it wouldn't be a beta now would it.
I know that this is going to stir some of you up, but try for just a minute to think before you post, and at least try to be original in your insults if you feel the need to go that way.
Sir you are my hero. I know this doesn't happen often and everyone wants to rely on someone else for raising their child and keeping the "bad" content away. You have actually approached the problem in the simplest yet most effective manner. You spent time with yrou child taught her how to use the system and are planning to actually talk to them about the content when it eventually matters to her. Thank you for being a parent I wish more children out there had those.
You have to meet her honestly. In a society which is slowly making its general population utterly stupid, through the stripping of funding from schools and the terrible ways most teachers are treated, finding someone who is kind, fun to be around, and amazingly brilliant is just too rare. Go to defcon when she speaks and then talk to her afterward if you don't your missing out.
After meeting her both at defcon and when she was kind enough to come and speak at a couple of the UMR ACM meetings she is completely brilliant. I wish her the best of luck with the final parts of the sculpture as well as success with her game company. Good taste in sushi too:)
Look I know the Chinese have a very rigorous education system that is in itself an impressive thing. BUT if these kids are using an UNreliable source of information for their thesis it might be best if they don't have access to it. I am all for using wikipedia as a place to figure out where to go and get ideas, but if you HAVE to have it for your research then it is starting to sound like you are giving it a more reliable credit then it is. wikipedia as in its name is a very complicated "wiki" There are just too many people who don't have a clue putting bad information into this thing. I know its not intentional always and I know that sometimes it is, but if the person is so very sure he is right they could keep changing the updates to always go back to the bad information. These guys need to find real reliable confirmable sources of information, NOT a public billboard that is modifiable by anyone with a connection to the internet.
This is just my thoughts, I use wikipedia myself to point me in the right direction to find good siteable information, but I could with more work and gratuitous use of google find the information on my own. Wikipedia just makes life easier.
Didn't Micor$oft also cause the shortage so that the hype would be insane and boost sales over the long term?
And of course the sales of the attachments are very high, I was told by my local gamestop that the units were NOT being given out on order of pre-order placement but instead based on how many accessories a consumer bought, so of course those sales are going to be way because people wanted to do their best to get one of the consols.
And as for ebay me thinks 1200 for a console that doesn't even reliably work is just a little steep.

I actually own the 1.6 P4m Geforce4mx laptop with 512 ram and 30 gig hard drive, and all i have to say is for 2704 after shipping this little box has huge nuts, and really i liked it so much i sold my desktop as i didn't need it anymore, just kept the monitor keybord and mouse, and now it runs better then my desktop did. I don't just had to put in my two cents from someone that owns an uber box.
