    You're so wrong.

    In fact, I think it's fair to call Google an "honorary non-profit charity" because, although they aren't "technically" a non-profit charity, they selflessly contribute more to the world than some of those other supposedly non-profit "charities" like, for example, Médecins Sans Frontières.

    That's not true.

    Google is firmly committed to a vendor neutral policy with Android and the Motorola Mobility subsidiary will be firewalled off from Google and independently managed to ensure that stays true.

    In fact, Google would be happy to see their own investments obliterated by their handset competitors... eh, I mean partners... and their own handset division becoming a bottomless cash sink, as long as it helps advance the Android platform.

    So, Microsoft really needs to stop with the FUD and accept that Google really is an altruistic and idealistic organization that truly cares only about making life better for everyone.

    Accumulator A: 64 bits
    Index register X: 64 bits
    Index register Y: 64 bits
    Stack pointer S: 32 bits
    Direct page pointer D: 32 bits (direct page still only 256 bytes)
    Address Bus: 32 bits
    Data Bus: 16 bits
    Clock: Provide Phi0 and Phi1 at 10 Ghz 180 degrees out of phase.
    Timing: All direct page instructions execute in one cycle, others in two cycles, unless an addressing mode crosses a 256-byte page boundary, in which case an extra cycle is added.

    Considering the 20 bit addresses in the 8088, I find it hard to get too worked up over the "brain damaged" 640KB limit on the original PC.
    As for the 286 and 386 machines, they were limited by DOS, not by the hardware. You were only limited because you chose to run DOS.

    Being manufactured by Foxconn does not mean that Foxconn does the hardware design and writes the bios and OS code too.
    I hesitate to believe that the screwing, and and glueing that Foxconn does affects the security in any significant way.

    There is a bit of a mandate at the moment to reduce government debt/growth. There's far too much dysfunctional, ideological infighting to do this effectively or efficiently.

    Since we apparently can't reduce ANY spending to the military (a few less $1B planes?) or on a variety of wars

    Talk to Leon Panetta about that one.
