How can you be sure about something that is uncertain? Maybe we can figure out the consequences of individual drugs, but when some drugs are combined, they can affect the body thousand times the power of the original drug.
Like homer_ca, I can eat as much as I want, and still be slim. But I think that's because I almost never eat fastfood, I just don't like it. Most of the fastfood you buy in the supermarkets ranges from disgusting to almost eatable, it's really a food-illusion. It's pumped with all sorts of drugs to make it look and taste better, it's definitely not to make it healthier, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if it also damages your body.
I also think that Etriaph didn't think of a great conspiracy between the food industry and the pharmaceutical industry. BUT as you mentioned yourself, people get what they want. People want easy food, easy food causes a lot of troubles, and people want easy solution to lot of troubles, easy solution to lot of troubles causes more troubles, and so on. This is a golden ring for the of the pharmaceutical industry.
Now I can proudly say "I'm from Denmark!" and to those who might not know about the magic LEGO DAT Tape Loader I can say "We make incredible machines in Denmark!".
That's good stuff! Beerconomy! Something that sounds sweet in a Danes ears!
What kind of Danish currency would you prefer, Carlsberg, Tuborg, Faxe or Harboe?
What's your adress?

Sheer Crappiness? If it was all about sheer crappiness, then why do anyone buy Windows at all?
Recently I installled a Surecom networking adapter under Windows XP, and suddenly I couldn't enter the networking configuration or the device manager! Crappy?
When you set up a manually configured TCP/IP network under Windows 2000, with your own hosts file under C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc, then for some obscure reason the network doesn't work, even when you reboot the computers in the network. But suddenly after an hour or so the network starts working! Crappy?
If you plug your USB ZIP drive, you might have to reinstall windows because it cant even enter Safe-mode. Crappy?
This is not to mention all the bluescreens I've seen in my life.
The only condition under which windows works relatively stable is when no new programs is installed, no new hardware is installed and no configurations is changed...
I'm affraid that the emperical evidences counter prove your theory.
It hurts a lot to see how efficiently Microsoft shuts out competition. Competition is the consumers only stronghold against absolute abuse, competition is democracy through your wallet, the only real democracy that is left in this world and I don't wanna lose that.
I don't drink Coca C(Monop)ola, I avoid Nestlé products and so on. But there is no way around Microsoft, there are only windows in this world, even the emergency door (Linux) is efficiently shut by Microsoft, the consumers are weaved into the Microsoft products.
Microsoft is the bluescreen of the competitive marketeconomy
Why should they back out now then? Why not wait until they actually can use the lasers for shooting down nuclear missiles? Politicians aren't honest like that!
