I always thought that Starbridge was a hoax or some guy who was full of himself. Has anyone seen their webpage? He tries to make himself sound like a genius. Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE for them to be able to deliver according to all their hype, but I won't be a believer until I see it work as advertised.
I agree. Macs have great hardware, but the software selection sucks. I think it is a little more stable than M$, but who would actually run System# on it anyway? Put Linux on it, and compile or port all the software yourself. BTW, I like those iBooks, just the hardware. The case looks too poofy.
Shuttle does too much.

NASA's X-37

The original shuttle concept was ALOT slimmer than it exists today. It originally wasn't going to do many of the tasks it does now. The designers kept "adding" to its duty list, so that it now has to have an ET and SRB's to get all of the extra equipment up. The X37 really isn't going to replace the current shuttle, but it looks cool.:)
That's because the K7 isn't competing with the P3, it is WAY faster than even a P3 Xeon. A comparable P3 Xeon costs well over $2000, and is SLOWER than the first K7's will be, at maybe as low as $350-400 a pop. IMHO, AMB has a VERY good selling point.
I think they call it a peripheral because it cannot be made to function without a computer. (You have to use a computer to put the music on it, and you have to use a computer to change it.) You can only listen to it away from a computer. I can't believe the lawyers actually got the courts to understand this. It's cool. That judge may actually have brains, and isn't afraid to make all that money mad.
Where are these numbers coming from? Intel is selling less than 10% in new $1000 computers! That is the price level that most people buy. (Maybe not/.'ers, but everyday Joes.) Remember that the K7 is not even at the same level as a P3. It OUTPERFORMS Intel's Xeon processors, and has as much or more cache for less than half or even 1/3 the going price for a Xeon. Competition RULES!!!
Do you think Woz uses Linux? I thought the show was pretty good. Does anyone remember the part where Jobs says "Ours is better." and Gates says "It doesn't matter."? Who wrote the script? (Bill keeps saying that to this day.)
I think it is both a tool and a toy. When you need it, it is a very valuable tool. When you have a little spare time, such as on a plane or traveling, then it is both a tool and a toy. I would rather have a Palm Pilot with me on a business trip, than a memo pad or daytimer.
I know this is a hoax, a sloppy one at that, but how many of you actually looked around their site and discovered it was an online store? I can only imagine the increases in sales they have made (or maybe just hits.)
Uh... Aren't they already?

Uh, I am pretty sure I have 128MB of RAM, not 16MB (128Mb).

Take a closer look at how the ram is set up. Also, imagine the benifits when rambus and other new technologies come out next year.
