I agree on the user experience, use whatever floats your boat.
The last part of your post is just slander about Adobe, and comes off as flamebait.. especially with your parting line.
Why would this be a bad move for Adobe? It's not exactly a secret that the P4 3.06ghz is the fastest consumer level desktop cpu at the moment. Seeing as there is a larger market for Adobe in the x86 market (despite the large percentage of macs in design/video/etc) this makes quite a bit of sense.
Besides Adobe sells software, for both platforms, they're not a hardware company.
Basically it's a personal preference what platform you use, both are *fast enough*. It might not be personal in the case that your company has to decide what platform to choose, in which case how much raw processing power you can get for a certain amount of money is vital.
And I can't imagine why publishing benchmarks would enrage the mac community, it's not like they're making them up. Having factual information is always good, even though you prefer one platform over the other.
I've been very impressed by newcomer brit writer Justina Robson, she's only published two books so far, "Silver Screen" and "Mappa Mundi", but both are very well written and oddly personal takes on old cyberpunk themes..
Both books also come off as distinctly "british", which is refreshing as most cyberpunkish fiction is pretty dark and gritty.
Definitely one of the better new scifi writers.
Yes, that was the "Book of the Millenium" edition or something, it also had came with a cd with reading by Tolkien and other goodies. It's near-impossible to find now though..

There should be a petition for keeping the original title, just so the petition against the title gets beaten properly to the ground.
There is only to a certain point one should take "political corectness", and that petition takes it absurdly far beyond that.
Yep, Apple should at least ship iBooks with different colours-choices if not transparent, sort of like the "old" iMac line.. mmm, Pink iBook..
