Actually, I worked on the original prototype for this as my PhD thesis under Professor Kazerooni.
The neat thing about this machine is that it's *not* battery powered at all. The main power plant is actually an internal combustion engine. That's what's so practical about it.
I remember spending months looking for a suitable power plant and then finally settling on a 1.5HP Ryobi weed-whacker engine. Worked like a charm.
