Agreed, would it work better if the sneakers just kept you stationary like a multi-directional treadmill. IIRC something like what the movie Player One used.
Except when the battery degrades and either won't charge or its capacity approaches zero.
You'd need to run completely off the USB battery pack. Is that supported and practical?
