The subject of this discussion is making the life easier for the user, not the admin.
How will those "easier" urls benefit users?
It's kind of useless to dictate the titlebar over the phone to someone if you want them to get to the same page.
Is it really useless to dictate the titlebar? You can always search using the titlebar. Do you usually dictate urls to dynamic page/other than main page by phone?
For instance, this thread in/. is http://developers.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=02/1 0/02/1946224&mode=flat&tid=95 -- why couldn't it just be http://developers.slashdot.org/thread/02-10-02/194 6224.html ? Or even http://slashdot.org/developers/02-10-02/User_Cente red_URL_Design.html ?
I'm thinking, why should it be? It really doesn't matter. You would never type a slashdot url or any url that refers to a specific page under a site. That's what the bookmars are ment for.
Using page names like ".../User_Centered_URL_Design.html" only causes more work for the admin. If you say that you'll know then what it contains, try checking the titlebar.
I predict that within a year there'll be mobile phone(s) that has a touchscreen. When that day comes these new palm's pdas, which completely lacks of innovation, will have no market share at all.

But there isn't much use for search engine like google if you can't access the pages you've searched for. I think the question is basicly about general access to every page on net, not about access to specific sites.
Think about it, there are about 20,000 people living 15 miles from my home. The article says it's 1,000 T1 lines. that's 1/20 of a T1 for home users. FYI, that's slower then 56k.
I'm pretty sure that they would use more than 1 server on that kind of areas. Besides, how many of those 20,000 would use internet? Atleast not at full rate all the time.
It's true that if you host a site and people with such bandwindth come and start to download a big file from your site it'll slow down your network pretty dramatically, but I guess you limit clients bandwindth from the server.
What ever happened to the 'ericsson adding windows to their phones' project? I guess they realized that symbian is pretty good (altough nothing can beat linux...).
I think that many mobile phones can be thought as somekind of pre-PDA thing. You can check email with them, use calendar etc. Do we really need very colourfull screen on PDA's & mobile phones because it uses lot of battery? For some people it's a good thing but, I wouldn't actually really want it now.
Just waiting for a new release of nokia communicator.. (it'll rock)

Let's wait a year..

..embarressing for MS. "Technial expert" without any knowledge (other than name) of other rival OS's. Very poor..

Did you know that about 8% of men have little bit colorblindness, maybe not much but still have that problem?
Could this be the solution for us? Will the humankind be saved?
