  1. Object Push on Spammed by Bluetooth · · Score: 1

Bluejacking relys on a couple of things to be in place to work. 1. Other end (jack-ee) has to have Bluetooth, and switch it on. Some phones come with it on by default 2. You have to agree to accept what your being sent, This can be worked around as you can set your Bluetooth devices name to be "Hi! you've been BlueJacked" 3. For the "total" jack experience OBEX Push profile has to be on either end, for the business card (vCard, same format as with IR on Palms etc.) exchange (when accepted(?) by the confused jack-ee) then they have a semi-permanent record on their phone. The ideas been around for a while, in singles bars (where techies lurk), and school playgrounds (where kids always have right ideas for mischief).

  2. medical/emergency workers on Tracking Your Employees, Children · · Score: 1

This is a good thing for emergency workers/medical staff etc. (if they'd agree to it first, not as spyware) As part of their contract (maybe with a bonus) they could agree to be on "location based call" at certain times, if an accident happens near them emergency services will know not only who is on call but who is nearest/most useful? An location based extension of a beeper. Cops could use it too, instead of calling all cars, call whos near on the Bat scan.

  3. Ive just seen the future!! on Will Instant Messaging Ever Unite? · · Score: 1

Umbrellas!! If we can unite stuff under them, with "protocols" then what need for politics/religion/microwave ovens??? We could construct a MASSIVE umbrella (Off the top of my head, it'd need to be 126,000 Km^2) and get EVERYONE in the world to talk the same language!! and be friends!! to unite under the one true UMBRELLA. And you stay dry! Even in Ireland, Im off to patent UMBRELLAS as middleware for life in the universe....
