  1. Not the OFLC Fault on Leisure Suit Larry Banned · · Score: 1

Blame the conservative government. The OFLC released a report recommending that the government allow an R rating for games. As their study showed a significant portion of the gaming public is now over 18. However the govt knocked the report back. Helps the conservative govt keep their "family" interest groups happy.

  3. Perfectly Legal in Oz on Microsoft: No Xbox for You! · · Score: 2, Interesting

Modchips that allow imports to play are perfectly legal. Just like multi-region dvd players are fine, but disabling macrovision is not. We defend this in Oz as we are often last to get releases even if they are released here at all. Due to our small market, sometimes the only way to get a game or dvd you want is to import it. The ACCC would fight MS on this one, as they fought the DVD companies over region zoning.

  4. Re:I've only this to say... on Dan Looks at Office Toys · · Score: 1

This is a valid concern, due to Occupational Health and Safety regulations. At my work these rubber band guns and nerf guns, etc... are not allowed. The liability that would arise if someone did loose an eye is very serious. So not all geek workplaces condone these toys.

The original poster was incorrect. It is 160 characters in Oz aswell. We also use the GSM standard.
