I Know this is a bit off-topic, but I would be interested to know what the view in the US is about how George #2 apparently cheated his way into power.
I remember seeing an interesting TV report about him getting Jebb (spelled right?) to remove 20000 democrat voters from the Florida (or Dade) electoral registers using a very questionable correlation between fellony rate and race, and based on the premise that the majority of ethnic minorities vote Democrat. Apparently it was under investigation...
Terms like 'hard-boot', 'fire-wire', 'punched card', 'soundblaster', 'fatal exception' and 'bill gates' are just bound to inspire aggression. And that's before we've even had to use any software!
These days even the 'Kernel Dev' icon in RedHat looks a bit subversive...

Of course the attacks on the WTC were terrorist attacks, and hideously evil ones at that! - But I live in Manchester, where an IRA bomb could have killed many more people than died in the WTC attacks. So put it into persoective - especially since the US funds the IRA!!!
There is NO SUCH THING as a self sufficient country - the USA certainly isn't. In fact, if it didn't depend on the oil in the Gulf, there would never have been any attempt to sort out Saddam (two d's) - incidentally it is also questionable as to whether or not Kuwait was actually a legitimate independent state (it was historically part of Iraq in the first place).
Secondly - Norway has always been a diplomatic hub in many UN accords - the Oslo agreement anyone? - so you are completely wrong!
Thirdy - The US is the only state EVER to have used Weapons of Mass Destruction in the history of the planet - so I find it find it grossly hypocritical that George W ('nepotistically' rather than 'democratically' elected) is trying to hijack (pun intended) the grieving process in order to rally support for Cheney and Rumsfeld's new obsession.
Fourthly - a minute's silence for:
Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The vistims of 11 Sept 1973...the date on which a CIA-sponsored coup in Chile overthrew the democratically elected government of Allende, leading to an estimated 30,000 political killings.

What about the Orange marches? Or the terrible behaviour that could be seen around a Catholic *Infant School* recently! Whilst the conflict may have started over territory, religion was - and still is - used as the principal method of control and motivation in the warring factions.

What I love is the way in which George #2 rants about protecting 'democracy'! Maybe he meant 'nepotism'.
Incidentally, when did 'The War Against Terrorism' become 'The War *On* Terrorism' ? I only ask because the former had an extremely unfortunate acronym (in the UK anyway).
